Imaginable

"Luke," Sera said, her eyes were slits, her hands on her hips.

"Sera," Luke said, doing his best to look innocent.

"Do not take my picture." She hadn't even reached up to try to get the tangles out of her hair yet, though he knew she had to be itching to do it.

"It won't work anyway," Fey said, as the last of the pixies departed. "You can't take pictures inside the Realm."

Luke lowered his phone, turned to her. "You mean it's not allowed?"

"No, I mean it's not possible," Fey said. "Pictures of this place won't show up in the Real world. They'll just be blank."

"Why?" Sera said. She was using her fingers now to untangle her hair.

"Because in the Real world, the Realm doesn't exist," Fey said. She reached up to help Sera with her hair. "Next time don't encourage them to gather," she said. "They cannot resist the call-flower pixies are very curious-and they're also a little mischievous as well."

"How was I encouraging them?" Sera said. "I was just standing here minding my own business. They came to me."

"Maybe Sera's a pixie magnet," Luke said.

"Not," Sera said, "helpful."

"Not," Luke replied, "trying to be." He watched her press her lips together and try to look grumpy, but she couldn't quell her laugh. It bubbled up out of her despite her efforts. Luke grinned.

Mission accomplished.

Character Interview - Sera:

Nancy: I would like to welcome Sera to The Avid Reader today. We are so glad you could join us.

Sera: Thanks, Nancy. I'm glad to be here.

Nancy: Sera, we know that you have the ability to heal. What is that like for you physically and emotionally?

Sera: I don't usually talk about this with anyone, you know other than Luke and other Gifteds, because it tends to freak them out. But I guess since you're not freaking, I can tell you. There's this light that I feel come down through my head and flow down my arms, through my hands, and into the person I'm healing. It feels really warm, sometimes even hot if the person is really hurt. It's amazing watching someone heal right before your eyes. I wish everyone knew what it was like.

Nancy: So tell us about Marc. What do you think the real reason for his leaving was? Do you think he was just using you or do you think he actually did love you?

Sera: Oh, Marc. I don't know. I don't really like to talk about him much. But after everything with the Shadows and Lilith…I think it was just too much. He didn't want that to be his life. Which I totally understand now. But I do think he cared, you know? I mean he came into the Shadowlands. That says something, doesn't it?

Nancy: What about Jonas? Now that Marc has left do you think you and Jonas may one day hook up? What are your feelings for Jonas?

Sera: Oh, boy. Wow. Jonas? I mean, who's going to see this interview? Does Jonas read your blog because I don't want him seeing this. Jonas. Yeah, he's…amazing, you know? He's just…god, you should see him in the Realm. Or, well, maybe you shouldn't. He's irresistible there. Oh my god, I can't believe I just said that. Luke is never going to let me live that down.

Nancy: How did you feel when you found out you and Luke were adopted?

Sera: That was huge, right? I guess a part of me was shocked and a part just thought it totally made sense. I mean, Luke and I are so different from our parents. I always thought that was just because we were twins-that our closeness made us feel different-but that's not all it was. And finding out that we really are different…well, it just fit. I understood that.

Nancy: How did you feel towards Fey when you found out she was keeping secrets from you and Luke?

Sera: Honestly, it hurt at first. But she had to do it, and I get that. I mean, it's kinda like how Luke and I keep secrets from Mom. She doesn't know what we can do because she'd freak. She wouldn't believe us. And so we don't tell her. Just like Fey.

Nancy: How is Luke handling Fey and her secret? Do you think that Luke and Fey will admit to how they feel about each other? To themselves and or to each other?

Sera: Oh, now here's something we can talk about! Luke has been drooling over Fey forever-not that he's said much, but he doesn't have to. I know him. And I think he's ready to take that next step with her. At least I hope so. I'm all for it-I think they'd be great together.

Nancy: When you are not healing people or trying to stay alive what do you like to do?

Sera: Oh, I like hanging out with my friends, getting coffee or tea at Muddy Waters. And I paint. A lot. And read.

Nancy: What are your plans for the future? College? A family of your own one day?

Sera: Wow, um, yeah. College and a probably a family. That's still so far away, but I hope so.

Nancy: If you do go to college. What do you plan on majoring in?

Sera: I'm thinking about art, but I know I should have a fallback. Except I don't really want one. I just want to paint and draw.

Nancy: What is your favorite flavor of Ice Cream?

Sera: Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie (with chocolate sprinkles, of course).

Nancy: Do you and Luke ever argue like other siblings?

Sera: Oh boy, when we get mad at each other…yeah, it's not pretty. But, I don't know, we never stay mad. We get over it right away, I guess because it's always seemed like the two of us against the world.

Nancy: What is your favorite class in school?

Sera: Art, of course. But I also like English too.

Nancy: Thanks for visiting with us today Sera. Whatever you decide for your future we hope you are happy. We have really and truly loved reading about your adventures and hope to read more. All you guys stay safe and well.

Sera: Thanks, Nancy. It's been really nice talking with you, too. :-)
