Blurb:

Nobody who enters Ravenwood school will ever be the same again.

Fifteen year old Brooke has been in care all her life. Now she finally has an adoptive family who don't want to send her back to The Home; but their solution for her problems is much more dangerous.

A secret boarding school for possessed children. A boarding school where any unnatural behaviour will be stamped out. A boarding school with no escape; where witchcraft is punished and vampires are murdered in the sunlight.

Brooke is the only one with the power to escape the security wards, yet she must find a way to help them all before it is too late.

Excerpt:

'I… er… overslept and I wanted to get down here early before they…' Brooke tailed off, realising she was telling this boy more than she wanted to, and suddenly feeling self-conscious, she flicked her hair and tilted her head up to meet his eyes. She'd been to enough new schools to know that you couldn't act like a mouse on your first day, unless you wanted to get ignored and dismissed for the entire school year… which might not be a bad plan, she supposed.

The boy pushed himself away from the wall and suddenly stepped towards her, surprisingly close, and too intimate. A shiver ran down Brooke's spine and a heat rose to her cheeks as he stared into her eyes. His eyes were gorgeous, a deep violet blue with an unearthly luminescence, ringed with long, dark, girlish lashes. His hair was a dark blonde and pulled back into a messy ponytail at the nape of his head. He looked at her softly, gently, as if he'd known her his whole life. As she stood frozen to the spot, she watched with wonder as he lifted his right hand to her face, no… her neck. He brushed back her hair and bent his face to her ear.

'Brooke, he hurt you… I can heal you. Let me…'

'W..what? How do you know my name already?'

'You're the only new girl this year, and after last night everyone knows your name, but I can stop them staring. I can help you.'

'How? It'd take a bloody miracle,' she whispered.

'Not quite,' he said, with a quirky smile.

'Hey, boy! Get away from Miss Gardner now, do you hear me?' a male teacher suddenly shouted down the corridor, making the few students in his way turn their heads and stare at the couple.

About The Author:

Emma Mills is a stay-at-home mum, who after a recent move 200 miles south now lives in the beautiful county of Somerset, in the UK. She shares her home with her husband, two children, a dog, 3 cats, a house rabbit and a tankful of fish.

Emma grew up and later went to university to study English in the city of Manchester and for the first decade of her adult life lived in a small town on the edge of the Peak District. It was here, looking after her babies and compulsively reading YA fiction that the ideas for her debut novel, WitchBlood began to take root.

A UK literary agent was secured, however it soon became apparent that she had missed the paranormal popularity boat by about six months, as all the publishers lists were full. With the characters not taking 'no' for an answer Emma decided to join the huge ranks of indie authors out there and go it alone. WitchBlood was published in 2012, swiftly followed by WitchCraft and WitchLove. Emma finished the series and published the finale WitchHunt a week after moving her family south to Somerset, in November 2013. A tie-in novel 'Flying With Fire is scheduled for summer 2014.

Emma is now working on a new and exciting YA project. A three book series unlike her last, where all the characters are human, there are no vampires, no spell casting and no demons rising. A series that will rip your emotions to shreds and leave you breathless.
