My
Review:
Scarlet
Lock wakes up with no memory. Her memory has been erased, wiped clean. But she
is lucky as she is taken in by two cyborgs, Sam and Eric. Sam takes Scarlet
under his wing and treats her like a daughter. But Eric takes a liking to
Scarlet from the beginning. While she is grateful for his help she is not quite
ready for a relationship in the way that Eric wants but he is quiet willing to
wait until she is. Scarlet has lost the last 20 years of her life. Little by
little some of her memories are coming back to her but slowly.
In
the year 2060 the world has went through some major changes. The world is
divided up between Capitols. In one Capitol you have humans and you have to
have a lot of money to live here. In another capitol you have humans with less
money and maybe some cyborgs. Then you have another capitol where cyborgs live.
Humans and cyborgs are not allowed to live together unless the cyborg works for
the human. There are different laws and rules for humans and cyborgs.
When
Scarlet goes undercover to infiltrate a group called the Slaughterers, a group
of people that want to end cyborgs, she meets another guy, Andrew whom she
likes a lot and who has a lot of stuff to deal with in his life too. Scarlet
cares for Andrew so much that she wants to help him put a stop to his
situation. But Andrew may just put an end to Scarlet. But Andrew has more than
himself to worry about. Andrew is the son of a very important man and no one
goes against what he says ever. If he doesn’t do as he is told it could become
very dangerous for his sister Cassie and Andrew will do anything to keep her
safe. He has spent his whole life looking out for Cassie’s welfare.
Eternal
Darkness has been a very interesting and intriguing read one that I have
enjoyed tremendously. I love reading about cyborgs but I didn’t like the way
humans treated the cyborgs. Cyborgs are humans with mechanical parts. Why can’t
they live together as one? I loved this new world that the author has created
for Eternal Darkness and can’t wait to read more of it. I loved all the characters
Scarlet, Andrew, Sam, Eric and all of the others but there was a few that I
just wasn’t quite sure about like Madeleine or the little girl that lived with
Eric these two were something else altogether. I don’t really know what to say
about them.
If
you have not read Eternal Darkness yet then let me suggest that you do. As I
said it is very intriguing and interesting and the world building is just
awesome. I am #teamAndrew
