Delaney’s entire world is thrown into chaos after she is mistaken for Lissa Olena, an alien princess hiding out on Earth in order to escape an arranged marriage.
Kidnapped by the princess’s head bodyguard, Ruckus, and imprisoned in an alien palace, Delaney is forced to impersonate the princess until Olena can be found. If she fails, it will lead to an alien war and the eventual enslavement of the entire human race.
No pressure or anything.
Factor in Trystan, the princess’s terrifying betrothed who is intent on unraveling all her secrets, and her own growing feelings for Ruckus, and Delaney is in way over her head.
Get lost Amid Stars and Darkness, in this YA sci-fi romance from debut author Chani Lynn Feener.
My Review:
Delaney a human girl is mistaken for a girl from another
planet and taken by Ander Ruckus. Delaney tries to tell him that she is not
this girl Lissa Olena that he keeps calling her but he just won’t listen so she
is whisked away in a spaceship to the planet Xenith. Ruckus soon figures out
that she is not his Lissa but with the Lissa still missing Delaney has to pretend
to be the Lissa because if she doesn’t then war is imminent which could put
Earth in danger as well. So what is a girl to do? Does she keep her mouth shut
and pretend to be their Lissa or does she speak up and let everyone know who
she is and demand to be taken home? Will she keep quiet to save lives? Does she
even have a choice?
I will have to say that I enjoyed reading Amid Stars and
Darkness way more than I ever thought I would. I have always liked watching
movies or TV shows about aliens and spaceships and other planets but I wasn’t quite
sure how I would like reading about them but as they say a book is way better
than a movie and that is so true or at least Amid Stars and Darkness is. I love
the different names the author gave for each title. Like for instance the Lissa
is a princess and a Zane is a Prince and a Ander is like a Commander and a King
is a Basileus and a Queen is a Basilissa.
Amid Stars and Darkness is filled with lots of mystery and
the characters have a lot secrets that they just don’t want to turn loose of. One
in particular Zane Trystan; another tall dark and handsome alien, Lissa Olena’s
fiancĂ© now what is this dude’s secret? This is one mysterious man.
I loved all the characters especially Delaney and Ruckus and
I think they fit well together. I loved the way Delaney talked how she always
had a little snarky come back and how funny she could be at times. She could
take care of herself almost as well anyone in a fight.
I would recommend Amid Stars and Darkness to anyone who
loves science fiction, aliens, spaceships, life on other planets and tall dark
and handsome men. Yeah and I can’t wait for the next book.
