They say you can always trust a policeman. They are lying. They lied thirty years ago and they are still lying today. When a booby-trapped body is discovered in a long-abandoned chapel, CSI Eddie Collins and his team are called to investigate. But when the scene examination goes horribly wrong, Eddie and DI Benson are injured and one of the team killed. Heartbroken by the death, Eddie is also guilt-ridden. But more than that he is angry. Very angry. Eddie will stop at nothing to bring the guilty to justice, and will teach them that even when served cold, revenge is a killer dish.

My Review:

Once again bodies are piling up but that is the story of CSI, Eddie Collins life or his job. Bodies from the past are starting to pile up along with a few from the present and our favorite CSI guy Eddie is on the scene and will do everything in his power to uncover the victim’s stories. The murder scenes have been booby trapped causing more deaths.

Are the bodies from the past linked or tied in with the bodies from the present? Well the person to ask is Eddie himself. When Eddie walks onto a crime scene and has a good look at it and given time to study the scene and uncovers all the evidence Eddie can almost write the victim’s story. Yeah after Eddie has had enough time to look over all the evidence he can paint a picture in your head as to what happened to the victim and the circumstances leading up to their death.

When Eddie walks onto a crime scene and sees the body he knows that person has a story to tell and will fight anyone who gets his way to the truth. Eddie sees that body as a person with a story to tell and they deserve respect and fights to help the victim tell their story.

I fell in love with Eddie Collins and his series with the first book The Third Rule. The more Eddie Collins stories I read the more I want to read. I love all the forensic and the crime scenes and watching and waiting for Eddie to solve the crime.

I love watching TV shows like Forensic Files, The First 48, Homicide Hunter: Lt. Joe Kenda among others so when I first read about Eddie Collins I wanted in.

Although I have loved all of the Eddie Collins books so far I think that The Long Revenge just may be my favorite. The Eddie Collins’ stories are like a bottle of wine they get better and better with time. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Eddie Collins world.

I would recommend The Long Revenge to anyone who loves a good mystery or thriller or even suspense. Trust me you are going to fall in love with the Eddie Collins series.
