Praise for SUNDIAL

“Sundial is a heart-in-the-throat smash.” ―Joe Hill, New York Times bestselling author of The Fireman

“Ward is surely one of the most talented writers working in the thriller genre today. This book will haunt you.” ―Alex Michaelides, #1 New York Times bestselling author

“Masterful...[A] must-read for fans of gothic literature and taut psychological thrillers.” ―Publishers Weekly, starred review

“As if we needed further evidence, Sundial confirms Catriona Ward as one of the brightest stars in horror fiction. As compelling and unique a voice for the 21st century as Shirley Jackson was for the 20th. She’s brilliant.” ―Christopher Golden, New York Times bestselling author of Road of Bones and Ararat

“Holy moly, Sundial plumbs the psychological depths and traps of toxic relationships, expertly mixing suspense, shocks, and menace. It's a wild, twisted family gothic unlike any you've read before, and one you won't soon forget.” ―Paul Tremblay, author of Survivor Song and A Head Full of Ghosts

“This novel is reminiscent of the best of Shirley Jackson and Joyce Carol Oates, and I cannot think of higher praise.” ―Thomas Olde Heuvelt, author of Hex and Echo

“There are two things you must know about Sundial. First, it's a great read, a genius piece of storytelling. But second, this is true horror, the horror of everyday life that we make ourselves blind to, horror that is brutal, truthful, terrifying. Catriona Ward knows horror.” ―Alma Katsu, author of The Fervor

“Catriona Ward has done it again with Sundial. Elegantly horrifying, this tale of a family's darker-than-dark past drives the knife in deep and isn't afraid to twist. It's a desert-dust nightmare with a scorpion's sting, and I LOVED it.” ―Emma Stonex, author of The Lamplighters

“It's a cracker, even better than The Last House on Needless Street. It was dark, and unsettling, and creepy and enthralling.” ―Lisa Hall, bestselling author of The Party

“A deeply dark and unexpected tale about families, love, hate, the long shadow of the past, and the redemptive power of storytelling. Clever, poetic and immersive.” ―Araminta Hall, author of Imperfect Women

“Absolutely, stunningly, heartbreakingly wonderful. A wild beast of a book.” ―Virginia Feito, author of Mrs. March

Sundial is a new, twisty psychological horror novel from Catriona Ward, internationally bestselling author of The Last House on Needless Street.

You can't escape what's in your blood...

All Rob wanted was a normal life. She almost got it, too: a husband, two kids, a nice house in the suburbs. But Rob fears for her oldest daughter, Callie, who collects tiny bones and whispers to imaginary friends. Rob sees a darkness in Callie, one that reminds her too much of the family she left behind.

She decides to take Callie back to her childhood home, to Sundial, deep in the Mojave Desert. And there she will have to make a terrible choice.

Callie is worried about her mother. Rob has begun to look at her strangely, and speaks of past secrets. And Callie fears that only one of them will leave Sundial alive…

The mother and daughter embark on a dark, desert journey to the past in the hopes of redeeming their future.

My Review:

SUNDIAL is a horrifying book that kept me on my toes from the first page. It had me guessing from beginning to end. There were so many twists that I never saw them coming. One minute I would think oh, I know what is happening here but then the next minute I was like no that is not right. Twists after twists that just kept slapping me in the face. SUNDIAL kept me going around in circles trying to figure out what it was all about.

SUNDIAL is about a family of four, a mother, a father, and two daughters. Outside the home, they were the perfect, happy family but on the inside of the home was a different story altogether. No, this family of four was not happy nor perfect. The dad was having an affair with the lady next door. There was something very dark and sinister going on inside that home.

One day something very tragic happens inside their home that has the mother, Rob whisking their oldest daughter Callie away to her old childhood home. SUNDIAL is told from both Rob and Callie’s points of view. Rob’s childhood is repeating itself through her daughter. The evidence keeps piling up stirring you in so many different directions leaving you bewildered as to what the truth may be It's kind of like a whodunit kind of story.

SUNDIAL is definitely one of those stories that will stay with you for a long time to come. It is one of those stories that once you pick it up you don’t want to lay it down until that last page is read. And once you do pick it up and read that first page you are drawn into its world of mystery and intrigue.

For a horror fan like myself, SUNDIAL is one of the best books ever. And I definitely recommend it. Grab your copy of SUNDIAL today!

Wicked Savage Wolves by Daniela Romero

Wicked Savage Wolves

Hellbound Heart Series

by Daniela Romero

Published: January 4, 2022

Publisher: Coffee and Characters

Genre: New Adult, Paranormal, Romance, Shifter, Wolves, Vampires, Witches

Blurb:

Three full-length books in one from USA Today Bestselling Author Daniela Romero

The wolves of Hellbound High are more beast than man. They’re savage, sinful, and everything a girl with a good head on her shoulders is told to avoid.

But, to Isabella, Jo, and Meiying, they’re so much more than they seem.

They’re the boys with the power to break their hearts but put them back together again.

If they decide to.

They’re the ones who make them suffer, make them bleed, but can also make their hearts soar to new heights.

The heir, the bad boy, the brother’s best friend.

They’re three grave decisions Isabella, Jo, and Meiying are on the verge of making.

And faced with the consequences of their decision, they’ll realize that a chance at love means risking it all.

Their health, their happiness, and most important, their hearts.

And in the end, will it be worth it?

***This is a dark, paranormal bully romance. Proceed with caution. You won’t find a magical school filled with your future besties. At Hellbound High, life is dangerous, cutthroat, and only the strong survive. Wicked Savage Wolves includes 3 stories, each featuring a different M/F couple. ***

My Review:

Wicked Savage Wolves is a part of the Hellbound Heart Series. Wicked Savage Wolves is compiled of three different books with three different stories with three different couples. Three different couples who attend Hellbound High.

Wicked Wolves and Tangled Truths is the first book and is Isabella and Rafael’s story it is told from both of their points of view.

Hellbound High is a school for all paranormal creatures to attend. Hellbound High is a place for all paranormals to interact together and hopefully get to know each other and become friends. Witches, werewolves, vampires, humans, etc...attend Hellbound High.

Upon her arrival at Hellbound High Isabella runs into the local packs Alpha’s son Rafael. As punishment Rafael is assigned Isabella’s tour guide for the day. Rafael being a bad boy vows to make her life miserable. I will have to say that Rafael did not make a good first impression on me at all. Rafael thinks that want ever he wants he gets. Girls just swoon at his feet all of them wanting to be the Alpha’s son’s girl.

Savage Wolves and Dangerous Deals book two is Jo and Jordy’s story, it is told from their point of view.

Savage Wolves and Dangerous Deals is a very sweet and charming read that drew me in from the first page. The chemistry between Jo and Jordy was very hot, their time together could be ever so steamy. I can’t wait to read more from the Hellbound Heart Series. I just love the Hellbound Heart world with all the different paranormal and magical creatures.

Cruel Wolves & Devious Deceptions is the third book in the Hellbound Hearts series. Cruel Wolves & Devious Deceptions is also Meiying and Desmond’s story and told from both their points of view.

For me, Cruel Wolves & Devious Deceptions was a fast-paced read that drew me in from the first page. I liked seeing Meiying and Desmond together. I think they made a great couple. I for some reason seemed to enjoy their bickering. I could just see the love floating between those two even if they couldn’t. If it could have been seen by the naked eye it would have been something like blue and red streaks maybe like lighting streaks flowing from one to the other, dancing in the moonlight and maybe you could even hear the sparks, and the more they bickered the more they would flash, spark, and crackle.

I highly suggest that you one-click your copy of Wicked Savage Wolves today for another epic adventure in this amazing world filled with shifters, vampires, and witches.
