The Moon Dwellers 1st Birthday Celebration Party

Today, The Moon Dwellers by David Estes turns 1 year old! It was 1 year ago today (June 30th) that David Estes first published the first book in his first ever YA dystopian series, The Dwellers Saga, and changed his life forever. Since then, The Moon Dwellers has outsold and drawn more hype than any other of his 13 published books, and has risen to the top 10 of many YA dystopian lists on Listopia, finding a place amongst bestselling books such as The Hunger Games, Delirium and Divergent. The birth of The Moon Dwellers also changed David's life forever. As he's gone from struggling Indie author to fulltime writer, he's watched in amazement as his Goodreads fan group has swelled from 300 members to over 1,300. Since writing The Moon Dwellers, David has gone on to write and publish two sequels, The Star Dwellers and The Sun Dwellers, as well as three books in a sister series, The Country Saga (Fire Country, Ice Country, and Water & Storm Country). He plans to release the 7th and final book, The Earth Dwellers, in the combined series on September 5th later this year.
So what did David Estes want to do to celebrate The Moon Dwellers book birthday? His answer: "Give away as many free ebooks of The Moon Dwellers as possible!" So if you're like so many others who are obsessed with YA dystopian novels like The Hunger Games, Delirium, and Divergent, and haven't yet read the growing phenomenon that is The Moon Dwellers, now's your chance to do so FOR FREE.
You can grab your free ebook of The Moon Dwellers from Smashwords.com using the coupon code below. And please feel free to share with your family and friends and pets, the more ebooks are given away the happier David will be. The only thing David asks for in return is that if you enjoy the read and continue on with the series, to please leave a positive review on Amazon.com for each of his books that you read.

And for those of you planning on reading The Dwellers and/or The Country Saga, here's a special note from the author, David Estes:
The Earth Dwellers will cap off an eighteen month journey that has taken me from unknown Indie author to still-mostly-unknown fulltime Indie author. The change is a subtle one for most people, but for me it's a dream come true. To the hundreds (and now maybe even thousands!) of readers who have come along for the ride with me, either by reading the Dwellers Saga, the Country Saga, or both, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Now down to business. There may be some of you who have only read the three books in the Country Saga or only the three books in the Dwellers Saga, and are now thinking you'll read The Earth Dwellers, which is supposedly the 4th book in BOTH the Country Saga and the Dwellers Saga. Well, that's awesome! However, I must highly recommend that before reading The Earth Dwellers that you read the three books in BOTH series. Trust me, doing so will greatly enhance your experience, as The Earth Dwellers will be taking significant characters from both series and crashing them together (yes, like a water country wave) into an action-packed tale of struggle and loss and hope and friendship…and maybe a little love, too.
Anyway, that's my advice, it's up to you what to do with it. In any case, thanks for being a part of my own adventure, I'm a better person for having written stories for you!

Title: The Crimson Key
Series: The Visitor's Series Book # 2
By Christy Sloat
Expected Publication: May 2013
Published By Anchor Group Publishing

Blurb:

The truth can be deadly.

Brylee Branson's best friend and boyfriend have fallen victim to a horrible curse that haunts her home. With the witches who cast it dead she has no choice but to rely on the ghosts inside the Brown house to help her find a cure. But time is not on her side, because Lynley's illness is spreading rapidly.

Confused and scared, seventeen-year-old Brylee must confront a new ghost in the house she has never spoken to before. This spirit is not a Brown relative and makes no promises to help them … unless she can re-unite her with a loved one.

The fate of those she loves now rests on her. Can Brylee put the pieces of this puzzle together in time to save them? Or will the Brown house claim another victim?

The Visitor's Series continues to scare and entice its readers with this gripping second book.

Excerpt:

After we ate, my mom made us do dishes like usual. Ephraim rinsed as I washed; it was our routine. We had it down pat.

"So not happy about your trip, huh?" he asked as he flung bubbles at me.

"No, can you tell? I just don't want to be away from you," I admitted.

"Brylee, you can't worry about that. Go home and visit with your family. It's been a long time since you have seen them, right?"

"Yeah, it has." I hated it when he was right. "I won't have any fun without you."

He rolled his eyes. "Yeah right and I will be having the time of my life here working all summer."

He would be working this summer and I would be alone anyway. Maybe this trip wouldn't be so bad after all. I just wish it wasn't two whole weeks. I thought maybe that I would try to talk my parents into shortening the trip. I looked around at our kitchen and the work my mom put into it. I wouldn't miss the house and its inhabitants, that was for sure.

"Just don't go meeting some hot guy and leave me for him, okay?" he teased.

"Ephraim, there is no one else in this whole world I want to be with more than you." He grabbed me and I almost dropped the dish. He placed me up on the counter and I wrapped my legs around him. My soapy hands ran through his chestnut brown hair. Leaning his head back, he closed his eyes. He liked it when I did that.

"You're making me want to carry you upstairs and do bad things," he joked. Luckily, my parents were outside drinking their after dinner coffee. "Why don't you then?"

Blurb:

A simple mission turned deadly.

Nineteen-year-old vampire Dawn has led a sheltered life within the confines of her father's presidential headquarters. Upon being sent on a mission to revamp four goofy misfits into guardians of a peaceful little town of Angel Creek, Dawn believes that all her dreams have finally come true. What starts off as a simple task, turns into something unexpected, changing Dawn's life forever and leading the action-loving, thrill-seeking vampire teen on a path of mystery, danger and intrigue.

When a human girl is kidnapped by a group of rogue vamps, Dawn discovers that there is more going on in Angel Creek than meets the eye. And it all connects to Ethan, the cute newcomer who seems too perfect to be true, Sebastian, the mysterious vampire with a turbulent past, and even Dawn herself. Dawn must not only succeed in revamping the troubled recruits, but must also prevent the vampire race from being overtaken by a malevolent villain who has a strange and obsessive fascination with her. As threat escalates, romance blooms, and ghosts from her past begin to surface, Dawn is sure of only one thing: her life will never be the same.

Excerpt:

A sharp, searing pain pierced my chest as I watched the guy I liked—the guy I was falling in love with—kiss another girl. With every fiber of my being, I willed myself to look away, my vision blurring in a desperate attempt to escape the agonizing scene before me. My mind failed to obey, and my gaze remained firmly glued to the couple.

Helpless, I surrendered to the nightmare, for a brief moment allowing myself to imagine that his muscular arms were, in fact, embracing me. After all, the girl’s face, with its pale complexion, high cheekbones, straight nose, and cupid-bow lips, was identical to mine. Her glossy brown hair cascaded all the way down her back, each wave perfectly matching my own. Even her slender body curved in precisely the same places. Looking at her was like gazing into the surface of a moving, breathing mirror.

She was me.

Or was I her?

She fluttered open her long, dark lashes, jolting me out of the fantasy by revealing the one perceptible difference between us: her emerald green eyes. While hauntingly beautiful, they looked nothing like my pale violet ones. She stared directly at me, tightening her grip on the one person in the world I wanted to be with. Mocking me for being too late.

“Aurora,” he whispered in her ear.

In that instant, I knew with certainty that he was not thinking about me.

My Review:

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Mayors of small towns across the United States wanted vampires to live in their towns so they launched the Vampire Immigration Campaign that offered them protection, fame, fortune, discounts to blood banks. Of course there were certain rules that both humans and vampires had to live by in order to exist peacefully together. There was two main laws that the vamps and humans had to live by the first stated that "no vampire is allowed to draw blood from an unwilling human". They had to amend to the original version to add the word unwilling as some teenagers was getting upset when their parents started calling the police on their vampire boyfriends and girlfriends because they were engaging in much enjoyed necking. The second stated that "no vampire is permitted to turn a human".

Dawn is the president's only child and his star warrior all her life her father only cared about three things; her safety, education and training. She was never allowed to leave her home at Scarlet House she was always working to strengthen her mind and body. She never had the privilege of going to school dances, parties or having any friends of her own. Everything she knew she learned from books. She began combat training before she could even walk.

Dawn was sent to Angel Creek to train four misfit vampires to be guardians. Guardians are vamps that guard the town and the humans that live in the town keeping them safe from rogue vampires. Her father told her that training these vamps was going to be tricky but like most teenagers she thought she was perfect for the job. Little did she know how misfit these vamps were or how much training they were going to need. She had to convince her father that she was the right person for the job. All he wanted to do was keep Dawn at Scarlet House forever to keep her safe from the world around them. He was really no different than most fathers in this way.

Dawn is one tough girl to have gone through all the things that she experienced and still came out on top. She was one tough girl mentally as well as physically. Her father taught her a lot about being a soldier but he also taught her how to love and care about other people too. Dawn is kind of mixed up about how she feels about Ethan and Sebastian. She likes Ethan but when she with him she is always thinking about Sebastian. Does she love Ethan or does she love Sebastian? Who will she end up with? The vampires in ReVamped are way different than any other book I have ever read. Yeah, I know that I have said this before and yes it was true at that time but it is also true now as well. ReVamped is a whole new world for vampires and humans alike. The ending will throw you for a big loop. One that you will not see coming until it has slammed you in the face. I can't wait to get started on the next book ReAwakened.

Blurb:

Becoming a vampire guardian was Dawn Fairchild's ticket out of the Scarlet House. Fresh off a successful mission, life in Angel Creek should have been great. But when her sort-of-maybe-boyfriend, Sebastian, disappears on a quest to help a beautiful vampire from his past, Dawn finds herself amidst a web of danger, lies, and deceit.

Joining forces with Razor, an enigmatic rebel lacking both a verbal and a physical filter, and her band of Misfits-Brooke, Sophie, Hunter, and Seth-Dawn is thrust into a race against the clock to solve the mystery surrounding brutal Born kidnappings and come to terms with the sudden discovery of her own unique powers. With time ticking away and Born vampires' lives in jeopardy, it quickly becomes evident that someone-or something-desperately wants Dawn and is willing to shed any amount of blood to get her.

Dawn has only one chance to face her demons and overcome all obstacles standing in her way as she embarks on the biggest mission of her life-one that threatens a deadly outcome for all involved.

Excerpt:

Sebastian was the first to break our soundless stalemate. “Don’t you get it?” he asked, towering over me. “I can’t not worry, Dawn.” His eyes pierced through mine. “You planted yourself inside my head and now I can’t get you out.”

“You should.”

“I’ve tried, believe me.”

“Well, you should try harder,” I mumbled, my fury slowly fizzling away.

He shook his head. “I’m not sure that I want to. I like how you feel inside my head.” He ran a hand through his wet hair, then rested it against the open door behind me. The gesture caused him to lean forward, bringing him even closer.

Suddenly, all I could think about was the hard curve of his full, enticing lips.

If I just tilted my head slightly

Snap out of it! my subconscious warned as I bit down on my lip.

“Those feelings that you have are a lie!” I blurted out, pulling back. “It’s all because I gave you my blood and accidentally ingested yours. It’s like some kind of a Born-Made blood curse,” I said, though, this—whatever it was—felt nothing at all like a curse.

“Are you telling me that I must ignore every single thought that’s going through my mind right now?” he asked, moving closer.

I took a tiny step back. “Yes. Definitely.”

“What about my feelings?”

“Uh-huh. Those too.”

“Every one of them?” His voice was low and husky.

“Yes,” I whispered.

“Fine.” He was saying one thing, but doing another, I realized, as he inched even closer.

“Good.” I retreated further into the partially open door.

The cool sensation of the wood soothed my burning skin. My back pressed against the door, forcing it to slam shut. Sebastian’s arm buckled under the sudden shift, sending him tumbling into me. He caught himself with his other hand mere inches before colliding with me, swiftly placing it on the other side of my head.

There was nowhere to run.

And even if I could escape, I wasn’t sure that I wanted to. My head spun as I soaked in the aromatic fragrance of his body. Soap and bare skin and something more severe. Icy. Dangerous. His breath held a hint of cool mint, and I was suddenly overcome with the desire to taste him. Trying to expel the thought, I bit down on my bottom lip, desperately pleading with my heart to still.

He’s the last person you should be thinking about kissing right now! the rational part of my mind screamed. The less rational part craved his lips and thirsted for his touch.

“Do your wounds hurt?” I asked in a frantic attempt to change the subject. I looked down at the light pink marks across his chest and arms.

“No. Do yours?” He cradled the back of my neck with his hand, gently trailing the two tiny fading scars with his thumb.

I shook my head and closed my eyes, losing myself in the sensation of his touch.

“Good,” he whispered.

An astounding wave of pleasure surged through my body as he pressed his mouth to the wound, igniting the memory of his fangs against my skin. He trailed tender kisses along the side of my neck, down to my clavicle, then back up toward my jaw. His lips grew fierce and his kisses deepened as his mouth finally found mine. I parted my lips, pulling him tighter into me, forgetting all about my intention to fight him.

My Review:

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Now here is one girl Brooke that must really love school or maybe just being prom queen is her #1 priority. Just think the only worry you have in life is being prom queen, awesome. But at the same time you feel real sad for her. But now poor Brooke is going to have to graduate because of the new law "No Vampire Left Behind" policy. Brooke can no longer keep repeating grades even if she will be seventeen forever.

Brooke, Sophie, Hunter, Seth and Dawn are all finally being initiated as guardians of Angel Creek. The residents of Angel Creek are being kind of rude saying they miss the Fab Five and that it is a good thing that Angel Creek doesn't actually need protecting. All towns or most of the towns have vampires as guardians to protect the humans from rogue vampires. Dawn was sent to Angel Creek to train these four vampires to be guardians. With this group of vampires, Dawn has had a lot of work training them. Now they are being made guardians and she still has a lot of work to do to turn them into someone that can actually protect the humans. Will she be able to turn them into guardians or will they always be misfits?

For the past three years vampires have been coming out of the coffin. They have a Vampire President and a Human President. Vampires and humans have been living openly with each other for a while now. You know humans can go to a coke machine and get a coke well now they have started making Blood Cola that vamps can get from a machine too. They also can get a Blood Vodka and other alcoholic drinks at bars or liquor stores. But I didn't read anything about a Blood Margarita. I'm sure they have them or at least I hope so. Well if I was a vampire I would love it.

Is President Twitbrook behind vampire blood-infused mutant werewolves and the disappearances of the born vampires? I don't know what it is that the Vampire President is hiding but he is hiding something. What is he hiding? Is he behind the disappearance of the born vampires? Is he being blackmailed?

Why are all the werewolves getting sick? A virus spread through the werewolves causing them all to get sick and die. A vampire came to them with a cure; the cure was drinking the blood of a born vampire. Is this the reason behind kidnapping all the born vampires?

I have never read a book about vampires quite like the Angel Creek Series. I loved the new twist on the vampires. I loved that you have made and born vampires. The Angel Creek Series is for anyone who like vampires and who would like a little something extra added to the life of a vampire.

Aberrant Paperback Cover photo paperbackcover-july9th-Aberrant.jpg

Title: Aberrant
By Ruth Silver
Expected Publication Date: April 17, 2013
Cover Designed by Lazy Day Publishing

Blurb:

In the future dystopian society of Cabal, the government instills equality for all and offers its citizens the perfect system. There is food, shelter and jobs for everyone. The one requirement is to follow the rules without question, including the government's match in marriage and "The Day of the Chosen", a lottery that randomly selects families to conceive children as natural means hasn't existed in generations. Following her eighteenth birthday, Olivia Parker accepts her requirement to marry her childhood best friend, Joshua Warren, and is eager to start her work assignment and new life when it all comes abruptly to an end as she's arrested and thrown in prison. The only crime committed, her existence. Olivia is unlike the rest of the world born not from "The Day of the Chosen." The truth haunts the government and puts her life in grave danger as one simple fact would destroy the perfect system.

With Joshua's help, Olivia breaks free of prison and is forced on the run. Together they set out to find the promised rebel town in search of a new home and new life together. Their situation seems less than promising as they reach the town of Haven. New rules and customs must be adhered to in order to stay. Leaving would mean most certain death in the large expanse of the Gravelands. Time is running out as the government mounts an attack to destroy Olivia and bury her secret with her. Thrown into a world unlike their own, they must quickly adapt to survive.

Excerpt:

Joshua came into my room, ignoring all rules as he helped push the dresser further from the wall, knocking it to the floor allowing me more than enough room to grab the journal and go. I tossed it inside the pack and Joshua put the map inside before we stepped out of my bedroom. I glanced down the hall, not sure what I expected to see. To the right the dormitory had been hit, and a roar of smoke and fire filled the confined space. Jacqueline was gone. Hand-in-hand we ran in the opposite direction toward the staircase.

My eyes burned. Coughing, I refused to let go of his hand as we stepped outside. Drones weren't the only things attacking Haven. Tanks rolled into town. A few soldiers jumped off, taking over the perimeter, guns drawn. I paused, gripping Joshua's hand as we were shrouded in smoke.

Just a few feet away, a soldier lifted his weapon and unleashed fury on a group of innocent people. I covered my mouth with my hand to keep from crying out when a child no older than three hit the cement. His eyes remained open as blood seeped from his head. He didn't move. Didn't blink. It took only a moment to realize he'd died instantly. All I could do was stand there in shock.

"We have to move," I heard Joshua's voice, but it didn't register. The smoke swirled around us and gunfire erupted in every direction. He grabbed my arm. "Olivia, I need you to focus." I nodded once, trying my best to clear the cobwebs from my mind. I couldn't, though. I wanted to run out to the child and protect him, but it was too late. I was too late. They were here because of me, innocent blood on my hands. I felt the heat radiating from the dormitory and my eyes flashed back. "I need you here with me, Olive."

"I am," I insisted, knowing if I didn't focus we'd both be dead. I spotted more soldiers - their standard issue uniform and the Cabal crest on their jacket sleeve told me all I needed to know. The government had come looking for us. "Which way?" I couldn't see the exit. With the smoke enveloping us and the fear coursing through my veins, I forgot the direction we'd come from.

My Review:

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Olivia lives in a world where the government provides all of your needs for you. They give you your home; the food you put on your table; the clothes you put on your back. They even tell you who you are going to marry and spend the rest of your life with and when and how many children you are going to have. Yes, no one has to worry about where they're going to live, work or if they will have enough to eat or where it is coming from. This would be a great life since we all know how to build houses (no one would be homeless), we all know how to grow food (no one would go hungry) etc.... but to have your life controlled by the government or anyone would not be right. In Olivia's world when you reach the age of eighteen you are matched up with a mate and you are married that day. You aren't given a choice as to who you want to spend the rest of your life with. Well that is not exactly true you do have a choice, you can refuse the match the government picks for you that is if you want to be banished from your life and thrown outside the walls to live with the thieves, murderers and rapists.

Also in Olivia's world no one can have children except in a lab. Each year the government holds a lottery and if you are chosen than you go to the labs and impregnated. If your name comes up again then the government takes your baby from you and given to a family outside the walls. You are only allowed to have or keep one child.

On Olivia's eighteenth birthday she dresses in the white dress that she has been provided with and heads out to the marriage ceremony. She is very scared and nervous about whom she will be matched with. She hopes with all her being that she will be matched up with her best friend, Joshua Warren. Olivia and Joshua have been best friends since the first day they laid eyes on one another the day they started school at the age of five. Olivia gets her wish she is matched up with Joshua. After they are married, they head to their new home provided by the government. They are not there long when the police come and arrest Olivia. She has no clue as to why they are arresting her and putting in a cell with no lights. Joshua helps her to escape and they have to go outside the walls to live where the rapist, murderers and thieves all live.

In Aberrant you are hit up one side and down the other with so many twist and turns. Throughout the whole book you are trying to figure out what is going on. You are always asking yourself how two people can be treated the way they are in every place they end up. Why is it everyone thinks now that the world is so missed up they can be the boss? But you know what if the world ever did end up like this then that is how it would be; everyone wanting or thinking they are the boss. I can actually see Olivia and Joshua mature little by little as they have to deal with each person they run into and all the things that they have to endure.

Aberrant kind of leaves you with this great big cliffhanger with a lot of unanswered questions. Which is a good thing though don't get me wrong. The ending leaves you with the want or need to read the next book. It does answer a lot of questions about how the world ended up like it was. But answering some question and not answering others is what makes a great writer. One who can keep you hanging on with the old adrenaline pumping and keeping the story in the back of your mind wanting and waiting for the next book.

Book Description:

The Virus spread. Billions died. The Ending began. We may have survived the apocalypse, but the Virus changed us.

When people started getting sick, “they” thought it was just the flu. My roommate, my boyfriend, my family…they’re all gone now. I got sick too. I should have died with them—with the rest of the world—but I didn’t. I thought witnessing the human population almost disappear off the face of the earth was the craziest thing I’d ever experience. I was so wrong. My name is Dani O’Connor, I’m twenty-six-years-old, and I survived The Ending.

The Virus changed everything. The world I knew is gone, and life is backwards. We’ve all had to start over. I’ve been stripped of my home, my dreams…all that is me. I’m someone else now—broken and changed. Other survivors’ memories and emotions haunt me. They invade my mind until I can no longer separate them from my own. I won’t let them consume me. I can’t. My name is Zoe Cartwright, I’m twenty-six-years-old, and I survived The Ending.

We’ve been inseparable for most of our lives, and now our friendship is all we have left. The aftermath of the Virus has stranded us on opposite sides of the United States. Trusting strangers, making sacrifices, killing—we’ll do anything to reach one another. Fear and pain may be unavoidable, but we’re strong…we’re survivors. But to continue surviving in this unfamiliar world plagued by Crazies and strange new abilities, we have to adapt. We have to evolve. And more than anything, we have to find each other.

My Review:

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I was given a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Zoe and Dani have been friends since like forever. They grew up together but now Zoe lives on one side of the United States and Dani lives on the other side. They keep in touch and visit one another as often as possible. They text or call each every day and if they don't hear back from the other very shortly they send an email. They care about and act more like sisters than real sisters do.

Then one day a virus like the flu starts making its rounds and everyone and I do mean everyone gets it. It is very deadly; people start dropping like flies. Zoe and Dani both become very sick themselves but for some reason they make it through it unlike most. Zoe and Dani both lose their roommates but poor Dani also loses her boyfriend Cam whom she loved very much and planned on growing old with him. Zoe's brother Jason who is in the Army and has been stationed near Dani finds her and along with a group of his army buddies they head out to meet Zoe. While Zoe, her ex-boyfriend and her roommates best friend Sarah all head out together to meet Dani and Jason. But first Dani and Jason are going to go and check on Jason and Zoe's Dad and then go check on Dani's Grams.

Warning while reading After The Ending you are going to need a box of tissue. There will be times when you laugh so hard you will be bending over double like you have a stomach ache and there will be a lot of times when the tears will be rolling down your face. Zoe and Dani both will make you cry and laugh at the things they say or do but Dani will be the one that brings out your emotions the most or she did mine.

Both of these girls go through similar things while they are making their way across the United State to be with one another again. After the ending the most important thing in both of their lives is finding one another. No one or no thing will get in there way. I can relate to Dani and Zoe's friendship. I have a best friend whom I have known since I was a child but she was an adult then. It was later in life when I was an adult that we became bff's. We hardly ever talk to one another on the phone, text, email or visit one another and we live about five miles apart. I know this is very sad and it is more my fault than hers seeing how I can drive and she can't. Even though we don't see or talk to each other you can ask either one of us who our best friend is and we will both say each other's name. The whole time I was reading After The Ending about Zoe and Dani emailing each other and it being both of their #1 priority to find one another I kept thinking of my best friend. I guess that is why I could feel what Dani and Zoe were feeling at times. You know that is what makes a writer or in this case writers so great is when they can make you feel what their character's feel. Now that is what I call a very great book indeed.

I wondered how two people write a book together. How does that work out? The more I would read the more I kept thinking that one wrote the part of Zoe and the other wrote Dani's story. I could just tell this I guess because of each character's personality or maybe because it just made since to me. But you know it was like reading two books in one or it could have been. I mean you could have one book with just Dani trying to find her friend and all you knew about Zoe would be Dani's memories and the emails she received from her and the other book would be about Zoe and the emails she received from Dani of course. But hey I loved it just the way it was. I loved the ending with that big cliffhanger but I can't believe the writer left did that. I was like what the? No way! I had to read it twice; I just could not believe it. Ok ok I really, really cannot wait for the next book Into The Fire. I have so many unanswered questions like "what happened?" "how did it happen?" "why did it happen?" "is she ok?" is he ok?" "how will they handle it?" Oh this is definitely one book that will stay with me for a very long time. Oh oh and I highly recommend that everyone who likes reading this genre or even if you don't but just like a really fantastic book then you need to read After The Ending today right now.

About the Authors:

After the Ending Authors photo AftertheEndingAuthor.jpg

Lindsey Fairleigh lives her life with one foot in a book-as long as that book transports her to a magical world or bends the rules of science. Her novels, from post-apocalyptic to time travel and historical fantasy, always offer up a hearty dose of unreality, along with plenty of adventure and romance. When she's not working on her next novel, Lindsey spends her time reading and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. She lives in the Napa Valley with her loving husband and confused cats.

Lindsey Pogue has always been a little creative. As a child she established a bug hospital on her elementary school soccer field, compiled books of collages as a teenager, and as an adult, expresses herself through writing. Her novels are inspired by her observations of the world around her-whether she's traveling, people watching, or hiking. When not plotting her next storyline or dreaming up new, brooding characters, Lindsey's wrapped in blankets watching her favorite action flicks or going on road trips with her own leading man.
