My Review:
Two teenagers from the same school with different
backgrounds who run in different circles have earned an internship to work for
a company in Berlin. Echoes is the two teenager’s stories of their trip to
Berlin and then waking up on an unknown island. It goes back and forth from
their time spent in Berlin and being on the island.
Fiona is a kickboxing champion who has been pushed by her
father her whole life to be the best. Fiona may know how to kick butt but she still
has her fears, fears of authority.
Miles is very popular with all the girls and of course is drop
dead gorgeous and he kind of knows it. Fiona and Miles have never got along as
she doesn’t care much for his attitude. But Miles just may surprise her as he just
might not exactly be the person that he portrays day after day. Who is the real
Miles? Can she trust him? Can she trust anyone?
There is something on the island with Miles and Fiona
something very big and scary with a big roar. Miles and Fiona find little clues
along the way making them wonder what is real and what is not real. Will being
on the island help them to face their fears and overcome them or will they cost
them their lives. Will they ever get off the island? Does anyone ever know
where they are?
Echoes is a fast read that kept me glued to the pages from
the beginning. I fell in love with Echoes from the start and didn’t want to put
it down. It will stay with me for a long time to come. Echoes reminds me a lot
of the TV show Lost. The ending wrapped up quite nicely and surprisingly but it
left me with a lot of questions that I hope will be cleared up in another book.
If you liked the TV show Lost then you are going to love
Echoes with its mystery and suspense.
