Review: Immersed (Configured #2) by Jenetta Penner @JenettaPenner

Immersed

Genre: Dystopia, Science Fiction, Romance, Young Adult

Blurb:

Just when she thought it was safe to step into the light.

After a daring escape from Elore, Avlyn finds that the Outerbounds isn't the haven of freedom she's hoped for. No one seems to trust anyone. And Avlyn's unique ability to control technology through Immersion marks her as a valuable but dangerous tool.

A tool that everyone wants to control.

My Review:

After over hearing a conversation from Direction concerning her friend Aron Avlyn decides to take Aron and leave without their knowledge of course. She takes her brother Ben and another friend Meyer with her as well. They take off for a place of seclusion, Gabrielle the woman who raised Meyer.

Elore and New Philadelphia both want Avlyn and Ben to experiment on and turn into a robot or use as a slave for their own personal agenda. Avlyn and Ben must go on the run and hide out from both Elore and New Philadelphia to keep them from using their special abilities against them or others.

Immersed is action packed and will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out where Avlyn and the crew are going to take us next. There are times where you are not sure if they are going to be able to escape the clutches of Elore or New Philadelphia or not with them hot on their trails. Avlyn is always putting herself in danger to save someone else and you are like no Avlyn don’t do it but of course she does it anyways.

Configured was one amazing book but so was Immersed. I loved all the computer code and the things that Avlyn and Ben were capable of doing. I loved their way of traveling with the pods. The pods were so amazing but so was Aron’s drones. I loved the way Avlyn was able to commutate with all the technology.

If you are like me and love a great dystopian with all the technology of science fiction in a novel then you are going to love Immersed too but I would suggest that you start with the first book in the trilogy Configured and then Immersed. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Configured Trilogy.
