Summary_zps6616f72e

Cassie Sinclair has been there, done that, and has the frequent flyer miles to prove it. She's far too jaded to fall for the engaging stranger seated next to her on her flight to Mexico, no matter how pretty his face or dreamy his accent. But when the flight's re-routed and their tightly packed schedules are blown, she decides indulging in one reckless night with Simon couldn't hurt. They'll have their fun and fly back to their regularly scheduled lives the next day. But fate (and Simon) might have other plans.

"Cass, let's just call this what it is."

She blinked at him, unbearably aware of his hand covering hers. God, could he feel the way her pulse was racing under his fingertips?

"And what's that?" she asked, her voice thick and quiet with nerves.

"A date."

"This is a date?"

He shrugged casually, one corner of his mouth curling up in a smile. His fingers slowly slid higher on her arm. "Yes, a date. We might not have set out to go on one today, but that seems to be where we've found ourselves. So let's go with it."

"On a date." His smile grew wider and he nodded once. He was positively caressing her arm now.

"A date. Which means I'm buying."

She didn't protest when he slid the check out of her reach. After tucking his credit card in the folder, he took her hand again, turning it over and skimming his thumb over her palm. Her breath caught in her throat. Such a tiny, insignificant touch, and yet she felt it in so many places.

"Since we've agreed that we're now on a date, maybe you won't mind me doing this," he murmured, lifting her hand and pressing his lips against the pounding pulse in her wrist. He looked up at her, his lips still brushing her skin. "Okay?"

She nodded. "Okay," she whispered.

"And this?" He kissed the center of her palm, slowly, deliberately, and she was fairly certain she felt his tongue flick out to taste her skin.

She pressed her knees together as her nerves and muscles slowly melted. She wanted to climb into his la

destination

p, straddle him, push his shoulders back, grab him by that tie…

"That's okay, too." Her voice had turned into a rasp.

"You've got some chocolate on your finger," he murmured, his breath washing across her palm. "Right here."

There was no errant spot of chocolate, but she said nothing as he drew the tip of her index finger into his mouth. She thought she might combust on the spot. It didn't last long, just a whisper of his slick, warm mouth around her fingertip and then he let her go, sitting back and smiling with an expression that was nothing short of salacious.

"I've wanted to do that all day."

Excerpt:

We ran to the hospital. On the way, we encountered hardly anyone, alive or dead. Where were they all? When we arrived at the hospital car park, I understood. Zombies were pack animals. A massive crowd of them were crammed in and around the main building like they were waiting for a concert to start, all barely paying attention to their surroundings and seemingly swaying against the force of gravity. The other thing was the smell. When watching horror films filled with shuffling zombies, the horror came from their ghastly looks-the reminder that death has a tight grip on us all, well, most of us. But what the filmmakers should focus on-if they could-was the acidic rank odor zombies gave off. They had been dead barely twenty-four hours. It took a normal human body at least thirty-six hours to really start to smell, and that was with a vampire's heightened senses. These guys smelled like they'd been out in the sun for three weeks covered in rubbish and besieged by wily maggots. They were mostly intact, though. Maybe this hospital had been Zombie Ground Zero. Most had turned so quickly their comrades hadn't had time to feed.

"Maybe we should try a less populated target." Nicholas twitched his nose and turned away from me to dry retch.

"Maybe you should grow a pair."

"Maybe you should act like a lady." He now had his hands on his hips, squaring up for yet another argument.

"Acting like a lady isn't going to help now, is it? What do you want me to do? Drop my handkerchief in front of the zombies and watch them fight one another to scoop it up for me?

Moron!"

"Always to the 'nth degree with you, isn't it?"

"Shut up. Look, the doors are holding, and they're outside, not inside, which means there must be some people left in there alive to have barricaded this place so tight."

"Or maybe there are just more zombies in there."

"Well, there's definitely a blood bank in there, and that'll help matters no end!"

Nicholas looked thoughtful then nodded. He of course didn't want to actually say aloud that I'd had a good idea. "So, how do we get past them?"

I assumed it was a rhetorical question, so I started down to the car park entrance, where most of the zombies were mobbing. I opened the outer door as quietly as possible.

"Ladies first," Nicholas whispered in my ear.

"I thought we'd agreed I wasn't a lady." And with that, I shoved him as hard as I could into the throbbing throng of zombies.

I guess I've always been a storyteller, not in a 'liar liar pants on fire' kind of way, although I do work in advertising! When I was little, kids would crowd around me in the playground and I'd tell them tales of blood soaked horror filled with vampires, werewolves, ghosts and more. Yes, most would consider me a disturbed child, but my playmates couldn't help themselves, they'd huddle around me every break time like an ancient tribe feeding off the fear; and that's how I learned that horror stories hold a certain power, no matter what some might say, everyone is addicted to a good scare, especially if it is somewhat rooted safely in unrealistic beings… or are they unrealistic?
Writing was really a natural progression. Right now I'm obsessed with writing: a YA Urban Fantasy novel, a Paranormal Romance novella series, and several short horror stories! So I'm currently living in a functional fiction coma - and loving it!

I've so far been published in 5 countries: USA, UK, Australia, Ireland and Canada and had short stories included in 40 anthologies with over 17 publishers.

Excerpt:

"So, how was your day? I noticed you were conveniently MIA at school today. You didn't answer or return any of my texts or calls either-what's up?" I caught the hostility in her voice. "My father is what is up. It was like an episode of the Twilight Zone today. I don't know what he's up to, but I'm going to find out," I vowed.

"Just be careful," Peyton warned, her face crinkled with worry.

"Always am," I lied, inching closer to her. I swiveled her chair around so she was now facing me and lowered my lips to hers in a short, sweet kiss. "How's my song coming along?"

The look on her face gave her away.

"You finished it?" No one had ever written anything about me before. The idea that she went through all the trouble was fascinating.

She nodded, attempting but failing miserably at hiding her grin.

"I want to hear it," I demanded.

"Now?"

"Now. I've been waiting forever!" Okay, to be fair, it had only been a week, but I was anxious.

"You're making me nervous. What if you don't like it?" Her hesitation was endearing.

"Not possible."

She took a deep breath in, exhaling slowly. "Okay."

She stood up and I took her place in the chair. She began wringing out her hands nervously and rubbing them up and down her jeans.

"Peyton, look at me, it's just me. You have nothing to be nervous about. Imagine me naked if it helps."

Her eyes bulged out of her head at my comment.

"Or not…" My cheeks grew red from embarrassment.

She began giggling, shifting the mood.

"Just remember…you asked for it," she warned.

She took one more deep breath, closing her eyes before opening them again and beginning.

"This is called 'You'."

Or it changes your life forever.

He called me "wife."

This man standing naked in front of me. Tall. Dark. Sexy as sin...

He's my husband?

Disjointed images from the night before, the night I can’t entirely remember, float into my mind.

Meeting him in the bar. Sharing tidbits of our lives. I own a company that plans bachelor parties. He’s a pediatric heart surgeon.

We both live in Las Vegas, but we come from very different worlds.

And then I remember that kiss. The way his lips brushed against mine, gentle at first, then harder, deeper, with more urgency.

Sex in the elevator. Hot, forbidden, delicious.

I remember the way he made me feel. The way our bodies fit perfectly together.

But I don’t remember marrying him.

And now, he won’t let me go. Dr. Sexy who saves children for a living. He wants the summer to prove we are meant to be.

I can give him a summer.

But can I give him a lifetime?

My Review:

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

For most of her life all Kacie wanted was to finish high school go to college and then get away from her home town. So after college Kacie her brother Tate and best friend Vi move to Las Vegas where Kacie and Tate start their own business planning bachelor parties. With the right amount of money they can come up with all kinds of different things for the parties and in a very short time. They are just getting their business up and running and right now that is all Kacie is thinking about. But of course she hopes to find a good man fall in love, get married and maybe have a couple of kids. But of course that is many, many years down the road.

Kacie, Tate and Vi all like to go out and have a good time at the clubs in Vegas. Tate is like a playboy breaking quite a few women's hearts. They all get dressed up and head out to a club to have some fun and party like it is 1999. After partying all night Kacie wakes up in a very expensive hotel room and while she looking for her clothes she happens to a piece of paper on the night stand. She picks it up to have a look at it and is shocked at what she sees written on it but then it does explain the ring she spots on her finger. As she is trying to figure out what she did the night before her very sexy date walks out of the bathroom and she sees a matching ring on his finger. While Kacie can't remember everything they did the night before Dr. Sexy does. While Kacie is trying to figure it all out Dr. Sexy gets an emergency phone call and has to leave.

Kacie thinks she has lost her mind by marrying someone she just met. After giving it a lot of thought she decides to get the marriage annulled. Well Dr. Sexy has other plans for the two of them. Dr. Sexy doesn't want to have the marriage annulled he wants to spend the rest of his life with Kacie. Although she is very attracted to the very hot Dr. she is not ready to be married. She is afraid that she will lose who she is if she is married. She doesn't want to be Dr. Sexy's wife she wants to be Kacie the party planner.

I fell in love with all of the characters in Hitched and can't wait to read more of their stories in future books. While I would love to see Tate find himself a good woman to love and Vi deserves a good man too. But I would love to read in the next book is Dr. Sexy's side of the story. You know about their wedding night and about their wedding ceremony. What about his family and his life as a Dr? What was happening in his life as Kacie was planning parties and trying to decide what to do about their future together? Do they have a future together?

If you have not read Hitched then I am here to tell you, you do not know what you are missing. You need to grab your copy today and start reading it ASAP. Yes it is a fast read but all that tells you is that it is a very hot read. I am very thankful to the authors for providing me with a copy of the book to read. Hitched is not the first book by this duo that I have read. I have loved every book by them that I have read.

He passed me and entered the hallway, directing me back the way I'd come. The house was silent, no sign of the woman that escorted me the first time.

When we reached the foyer he paused. "As much as I appreciate your concern, please do not follow me again, Nadya. It isn't safe."

"Safe? What do you mean?" From our close proximity I could see that the injury on his face had fully healed. I dropped my eyes to his chest, but there was no evidence of a bandage under his thin shirt. Without thinking I reached forward, more curious than I'd ever been, but he stepped deftly away and my hand grasped nothing but air.

"Goodnight," he said, opening the door.

The rain had finally passed and I stepped out into the muggy night. I turned to say goodbye, but instead heard the loud snap of the solid wood door as it closed in my face.

 photo Peyton.jpg

At seventeen years old, Peyton is the oldest Diamond sister. She's been hurt in the past, but because of it, has developed a thick skin. She will do anything for her sisters, going as far as protecting them from their mom's outbursts and getting home first from school to make sure everything in the house (including their mom) is ready for them. She's tough, doesn't trust easily, and while she has many people she hangs out with, the only people who she feels truly know her are her sisters. She doesn't like school (she gets restless sitting in classrooms!) and can't wait until graduation so she'll be done forever.

Peyton's a natural night owl, and waking up in the morning is a constant struggle. (Her sisters usually resort to throwing things at her to wake her up, and often yell at her to hurry up showering so they can have time for their morning routines, too.) She needs at least three cups of coffee to get going. She loves rock music, and can usually be found with an earbud attached to her ear, even during her classes. She loves partying and dancing and getting lost in the music. She also enjoys an occasional chill night of movies and television shows, as long as it's not a rom-com chick flick.

She wears mostly black clothing-why bother with colors when black always looks hot on her? Her nails are usually painted black as well. She's not afraid to speak up for what she believes in and she will always stand up for her sisters. She tries to not let anyone in to avoid getting hurt-but really she just wants to find that one person who cares enough to break down her walls.
