Olivia's starting over in the Big Easy. But just
under the surface, she's terrified her abusive ex-boyfriend will find her.
Kyle's dream of playing pro baseball was shattered when surgery left him with
rods in his leg, a rebuilt knee, and no idea who he is without the sport he'd
built his life around.
Broken and alone, Olivia and Kyle could be exactly what the other needs.
Just as they begin to trust what they're feeling, things take a dangerous turn
when Olivia's past catches up to her. Will Olivia run again, or stay and fight
for the life she and Kyle deserve?

Excerpt:
“Hey, munchkin.” Cam's exotic aqua and deep sapphire
eyes have half the luster they normally do and he offers me a smile. I know he
was out late last night, so I feel even worse that he’s babysitting me hungover
and playing Julio Child.
I sigh, rolling my eyes with a smirk. “Why do you
always call me that?”
“Because you’re three feet shorter than me and weigh
like four pounds.” He laughs, nudging my shoulder. “You okay? Seriously. You
look like you’ve been about to implode since I got here.”
I shrug, trying to ward off the tears I won’t allow
myself to shed.
“Liv … come on.” Cam pulls me into one of his
overwhelming hugs and kisses the top of my head. “I know I’m not your
studmuffin but don’t make me feel like shit. You’ll be okay.”
“I know. I’m trying.” I can’t help but laugh at his
attempt to cheer me up. It always looks like he’s a grizzly bear protecting an
acorn when he hugs me, but right now I don’t mind.
AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
What inspired you to write SAFE WITH YOU?
I wanted to originally write a story about a girl who misses out on the love of her life because she didn’t know he had feelings for her as they were only friends. But then it evolved and grew. I didn’t like that path so I kind of went with someone who knew her life was not going in the right direction and even though she was scared, powered through it to change. I’m really happy with the backbones that developed in my characters over time to make the effort to know that their past doesn’t define them.
When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?
30? Seriously. I started out after a rough patch from the advice of a family friend and just went with it. I loved to read my whole life so at least I have an avid background.
What is the earliest age you remember reading your first book?
Gosh, probably eight or nine? I loved The Baby-Sitters Club books and Goosebumps.
What genre of books do you enjoy reading?
New Adult / Contemporary Romance are my favorites, but I’m trying to branch out more.
What is your favorite book?
Non-Fiction: Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman. I love all of his writing.
Fiction: Left Drowning by Jessica Park. I never in my life related to a book more than hers. I have a ton of favorites, but that one is just gets me in the gut every time. Not that I relate to the exact issues in the book, but the emotions are so real.
You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and why?
Right now, I’m on a Colleen Hoover and KA Tucker kick. They are both so consistent and everything I’ve ever read from them is just what I wish my writing could be.
If you could travel back in time here on earth to any place or time. Where would you go and why?
My dad was much younger than all of his siblings, and my grandmother was married a few times. I never got to meet some of my aunts, uncles, and cousins because of this. I’ve heard such great stories about awesome they were, so probably the early 70’s so I could meet them and also to thrive in the music and era.
When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult task?
It’s so up and down for me. I could write 20-30k in a week, or I don’t even open my laptop for twice as long. I don’t force it if it’s not working for me. Unless I’m on deadline, if I need a mental break, I take one.
Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?
I have a crazy cat named Oliver. He hates affection, will eat ANYTHING, and pounces on hands. He’s weird, but I still love him.
What is your "to die for", favorite food/foods to eat?
Coming from the east coast, I’m a sucker for good Italian. I’m always in the mood for it. Thankfully, there is no shortage in my neighborhood. My family is made up of great cooks, too!
Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be an author?
Never, EVER, give up. I was rejected more times than I could count. But I kept revising and trying. The only wasted chance is the one you don’t take!
