He’s been there to help through it all.
Every touch, every sound, and every breath.
I was starting to get better. I was starting to live again the way a normal girl should. That is until we graduated college and life got in the way.
I didn’t think I would see Dem Dabbs again, at least I hoped I would soon, because now I’m falling back. I’m back into my habits. I don’t think I’m strong enough, but somehow, I have.
I’m living on autopilot… until I get that hope back.
I can see him.
Will it be the same? Will we pick up where we left off?
Will his touch bring me back to normal?
Or does he need me more than I need him?

An Interview with Serena Kearney
What
inspired you to write Cursed Frames?
When I was younger I had issues about
standing up for myself. I was in this shell that I couldn’t break out of. I
wanted to write someone who went through the same thing, but not exactly the
same issues. That’s when I came up with Willa. Also, from Dazed Bullet, I
wanted someone right for Dem and she seemed to fit the bill.
When or
at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?
You know what, I didn’t know I wanted
to be a writer until I was twenty-four, but when I look back on how I got here,
I remember always writing in journals, about anything. My day, imagination, and
even some short stories. I didn’t put two and two together until I finally
started writing. It’s been in my blood this whole time, I just needed a little
push.
What is
the earliest age you remember reading your first book?
Oh this is a tough one... I think I was
maybe eleven, twelve? I love Old Yeller and Charlottes Web, those
are two that I will never forget.
What
genre of books do you enjoy reading?
I love second chance love stories!
Contemporary mostly, but I love a good sci-fi read or unique paranormal
stories. I love young adult and new adult. I love romance stories that have
twists that I don’t see coming. I also love emotional reads, anything that can
give me the feels!
What is
your favorite book?
This is an impossible question, you
know that, right? LOL! But there are a few certain books that I know I will not
forget: The Bronze Horseman by Paullina
Simons, A Thousand Boy Kisses by
Tillie Cole, and The Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
You
know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and
why?
Another impossible question...! LOL! You see, with me,
it’s so weird, because I can absolutely love one book of theirs, but not like
some of their others, just personal preference. Jennifer L. Armentrout I’ve
loved most of hers, Nicole Williams, and Colleen Hoover. Not in any particular
order, just some that I’ve found I usually buy most of their books that come
out. Believe me, the list can go on!
If you
could travel back in time here on earth to any place or time. Where would you
go and why?
Okay, I had to think about this, I
mean there are so many things you can see and do, right? See the world change,
the world make history, the tragedies... but for me, I would travel back to
where I was maybe thirteen or fourteen. I would travel back to myself, why?
Because I was going through some dark and tough times. The world seemed
impossible and it felt like there was no one who cared about me. Myself and no
one else should have to feel that way. I would want to tell myself: Everything
would be okay, it’s a tough road, life is unfair, but you know what, you will
make it through and you will have things you never thought you could have, love
and happiness.
I would probably tell myself that I’m
crazy and to get out of my face, but I know those words would mean a lot to
anyone who was going through hard times.
When
writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult
task?
Sometimes it can be easy, especially
if I get on a roll, but other times, especially when I start one and I can’t
figure out the story and it goes on the back burner... yeah, those are really
frustrating.
Do you
have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?
I have one cat, his name is
Bongo-Bongo... lol! But really he’s like a dog, he can even roll over on
command!
What is
your "to die for", favorite food/foods to eat?
I am a sucker for sweets! Red velvet
cupcakes and cheesecake! Mmmm! I also love a good steak!
Do you
have any advice for anyone that would like to be an author?
If you really feel like this is your
passion, go for it, and believe me your first draft will be horrible, but you
grow from it and that’s what editing and critiquing is for. You do need passion
for this, because starting out as an author is not lucrative at all, it’s more
life rewarding than anything.
Author Bio:
I am a Leo. Born August 10, living on the east coast. I self-published my first novel, PNEUMA, November 2014, and it's hasn't stopped since.
One of my biggest problems was having too much to read. Now my newfound problem; having too much to write and not enough hands to type it out. Not enough brains to put the stories together fast enough. Not enough tea or coffee to keep me awake 24/7.
So, like every normal person, I have to take it one day at a time.
My cravings for sweets keep me going, any sort of cakes (especially red velvet), pies, cookies, and ice cream.
I have a cat named Bongo-Bongo, who loves to get in my way when I'm trying to work, but is too cute for me to fight him off.
And then I have my family, specifically my husband, who puts up with my endless nights, my tapping of the keyboard, my ridiculous imagination, and yet, he always encourages me to believe in myself and follow my dreams.
