In a world teetering on the edge of chaos...

Lexi finds herself at the heart of the ultimate struggle—between peace and war, loyalty and betrayal. The Imperium, a totalitarian regime, has its talons sunk deep into society, and everyone must pick a side. But for Lexi, the choices aren’t so clear-cut. Is her mother a savior, or a power-hungry zealot? Is her arranged marriage to Reeves real, or is it just another chain to break?

As alliances within the rebellion are forged and betrayals revealed, everyone around Lexi must decide if they are fighting for the city’s freedom or their own self-interest. But even among the rebels, not everyone is as they seem. Someone harbors secrets that could alter the course of the rebellion forever.

Echoes of the Imperium thrusts you into a labyrinth of moral ambiguity where every choice could be your last. In a battle between the might of the Imperium and the hope of the rebels, where does Lexi’s allegiance lie?

My Review:

Lexi has escaped from the Imperium with her new husband, Reeves, leaving behind her father. Outside the Imperium, Lexi learns more things about her past that she didn’t know as secrets of the past come to light. Lexi wants to save her father and everyone else in the Imperium.

Everyone living inside the Imperium lives under a strict government. Lexi was tired of following all the rules. Like most teenagers, Lexi wanted to do what she wanted. Lexi didn’t like the rules that were placed on everyone living in the Imperium. There are many secrets that are only known on a need-to-know level in The Imperium.

The world-building for Echoes of the Imperium is one of the best I have seen or read in a long time. Although I love it, I wouldn’t want to live in it. The awful things they do to human beings are just terrible. I would be like Lexi, wanting to save the whole world from them.

The world that was created for The Y Chronicles could easily come true. We could easily wake up one morning and find ourselves living Lexi’s world. What a terrible thought, or one very similar.

I enjoyed reading Echoes of the Imperium very much and can’t wait to read the next book to see where Lexi’s story takes us next.

I highly recommend Echoes of the Imperium to all science fiction dystopian fans! Grab a copy of Echoes of the Imperium today!
