Review: The Seer's Fate by Christine Amsden @ChristineAmsden
The
Seer’s Fate
A
novella by: Christine Amsden
She can see the future,
but she can’t escape it…
Danielle Hastings has lived
countless possible futures, and getting involved with Adam Scot always ends in
heartbreak. The gift of foresight has led her to one solid conclusion: avoid
Adam at all costs. But when she sees a tornado tearing through downtown Eagle
Rock – and Adam helping her save dozens of lives – she knows she has no choice.
Adam lives a charmed life;
thanks to his powerful gift of charisma, everyone has a hard time saying no to
him. Everyone, that is, except Danielle. Adam is determined to break through
her shell…until he finds out the real reason she’s avoiding him. But by the
time he realizes there’s no hope for a future for them, he’s in too deep to
back out.
It seems there’s only one
question the fates haven’t already answered: Will he break her heart, or will
she break his?

My Review:
Danielle Hastings can see the future. She has lived many,
many future lives. She sees the future over and over again with many different
outcomes. There is a tornado heading for Eagle Rock and Danielle has lived
through this tornado more than once each one with different endings trying to
find the one where she can keep anyone from dying.
Danielle has this thing for Adam a guy who can charm anyone
into doing whatever he wants. Danielle keeps seeing them together but in each
future she sees Adam leaves her for one reason or another. Danielle is not
ready to get her heart broke so she avoids Adam at all cost. Adam cares for
Danielle very much and is always trying to come up with ways to get her
attention.
Danielle tells Adam about the tornado coming to Eagle Rock
and asks for his help to persuade the people of the town that the tornado is
coming and to take cover. Danielle is so afraid of getting her heart broken
that she is unwilling to give Adam the benefit of the doubt to give life a
chance. If she would just give the two of them a chance and try real hard maybe
they can change their own futures, destinies.
I have truly enjoyed reading this novella with other
characters from the Cassie Scot novels. I have read all the Cassie Scot novels
and loved all of them as well. I really loved getting inside the heads of other
characters and getting to know them more about who they are and their magic. I
can’t wait to explore more of the Cassie Scot worlds.
I would highly recommend The Seer’s Fate and the Cassie Scot
novels to all fans of the magical and paranormal world.
About the Author
Christine Amsden has been
writing fantasy and science fiction for as long as she can remember. She loves
to write and it is her dream that others will be inspired by this love and by
her stories. Speculative fiction is fun, magical, and imaginative but great
speculative fiction is about real people defining themselves through
extraordinary situations. Christine writes primarily about people and relationships,
and it is in this way that she strives to make science fiction and fantasy
meaningful for everyone.
At the age of 16, Christine was
diagnosed with Stargardt’s Disease, which scars the retina and causes a loss of
central vision. She is now legally blind, but has not let this slow her down or
get in the way of her dreams.
Christine currently lives in
the Kansas City area with her husband, Austin, who has been her biggest fan and
the key to her success. In addition to being a writer, she's a mom and freelance
editor.
