Review of Apocalyptic Moon By Eva Gordon @evagordon

Apocalyptic Moon By Eva Gordon

Print Length: 364 pages

Book Description:

Dr. Dora Adler's life has been in disarray since the beginning of the zombie apocalypse, but when she gets bitten by one of the undead, her whole world is turned upside down. Held captive in a secret underground lab, the tall, muscular hunk in the next cell is her only hope for salvation. Unfortunately, he claims to be a werewolf. Yeah, and she's supposedly a witch.

Dirk Gunderson is an alpha Arbor pack werewolf. Captured and collared, he's sold to the zombie lab in hopes his blood serum can create a vaccine. He needs to escape, but not without the hot little brunette witch.

In the midst of enemy werewolves and the hordes of undead, Dirk and Dora's sexual tension ignites a blaze hotter than the desert highway. Along their journey, they battle the inevitable: a werewolf must never take a witch as a mate.

Excerpt:

She laughed with an angry edge. “Symbols of what? Like keeping Dirk and I as lab rats without any consideration to our civil rights?”

“I kept you safe. Both of you.” Dirk growled. “Safe?” He loomed over Mansfield. “I was sold to you by my worst enemy and collared with the gleipnir. For that and how you experimented on Dora I ought to kill you.” Dora touched Dirk’s arm. “Once he shows us the way out, we’ll bid him farewell.”

My Review:

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

It is Dr. Dora Adler's 27th birthday and she believes that this is the last day of her life. Her mother and grandmother both died on their 27th birthday. It is believed to be a curse in her family. Dora decides to do what she loves doing the most on her last day which is take care of people, so she volunteers to work. The hospital where she works is a rampage and is filling up faster than a speeding bullet. Dora's job is to check out the patients and then send them where they need to go to get the best care. Dora nor any of the other staff have seen anything like they are seeing with their patients on this day. They come in sick and die then after a few seconds or minutes they are up and biting people.

When Dora is bitten and she doesn't turn into a zombie she is then sent to another part of the hospital to be used as a test subject to try and find a cure for the virus. Zombies are brought in to bite Dora multiple times so that Dr. Mansfield can study her hoping he can find a cure. A big muscular, redheaded man is brought in half unconscious and constrained. Dora can't help for staring because this dude is definitely what is called eye candy. This dude is built like a brick sh!t house. He is put in the cell next to Dora's and they can see each other through the glass walls.

Dora learns that her new cell mate is a werewolf and that she is a witch. She doesn't believe that he is a werewolf and she is a witch until she sees it with her own eyes. Dora and Dirk become fast friends, they both need each other to get out of there a live. They are going to have to put their special abilities together and work as a team in order to survive. Unbeknownst to Dora, Dirk's wolf has found his mate and it is her. Dirk is an Alfa leader of his pack, he is second in command. He is next in line to be the leader of his pack after his uncle steps down. Dirk is sort of worried about what his uncle and his pack are going to do once they find out that he has taken a witch for a mate. A werewolf and witch are not supposed to mate because of the dire consequences that their mating could cost them not to mention their offspring.

I loved going on the ride that Apocalyptic Moon took me on and can't wait for more. I love zombies, witches and werewolves but have not read anything with all three rolled together. It makes for a great read and I loved, loved having them all in one story. A new combination makes for a great ride. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
