Interview Questions:
What inspired you to write Deeper:
Descent (Book Two of The Deeper Chronicles)?
Nancy and
The Avid Reader, thank you so much for this interview on the blog. Inspiration
for my three-novel series came about when I asked myself this simple question:
could I love a man who did very, very bad things?
When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a
writer?
I never knew I wanted to be an author. In my
early thirties, my parents went through a personal struggle and I wanted to
write an ode to them, to their relationship that had spanned decades but had
crumbled too quickly. That was when I knew other stories lived inside of me.
What is the earliest age you remember reading your first
book?
I’m a heavy
romance reader of the 1990s so authors like Johanna Lindsey, Susan Johnson, Judith
McNaught, to name a few were female authors I read in my early teenage years.
What genre of books do you enjoy reading?
Anything
that involves romance. I don’t need an HEA for my main characters.
What is your favorite book?
One that I
re-read each year is Seized by Love by Susan Johnson.
You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is
your favorite author and why?
I have many
favorites so I don’t want to single out anyone (LOL) but I love authors who can
pull readers in, capture our attention from page one.
If you could travel back in time here on earth to any
place or time. Where would you go and why?
This is so
personal. I would go back to the day my father brought the divorce papers to my
mother. I would beg them both to see the love they have and seek professional
counseling on how to re-connect as a couple.
When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy
for you or is it a difficult task?
It comes
easy once I have two things: everyone’s backstories and my muses for the characters.
Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a
cat? Or any pets?
No pets.
What is your "to die for", favorite food/foods
to eat?
Anything
with pasta, preferably angel hair J
Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be
an author?
I’m in no position to advice anyone because I’m still new, but I would
say to up-and-coming authors to have a distinct brand and remain true to the
characters’ voices that come to you.
Author Bio:
allyn lesley writes real stories about real people.
As a teen, allyn lost herself in the pages of some of Romance’s heavyweights, trusting that a happy ever after was just around the corner. In allyn’s own writing journey, as in life, she’s learned that people don’t always experience recovery and restoration after a fall. Her stories speak to the gritty side of life where the right choice isn't always easily identified and happiness not quickly gained.

Thanks for hosting today, Nancy! :)
Sounds like a good read, and thanks for the interview bit too.
I have been meaning to read the first book of the series for a while now ever since it was recommended to me by a friend. I am definitely moving this up on my TBR list. This looks like a fun and sexy read, and I like the cover!
