Mr. Prescott Carlos DashPublication date: August 20th 2017
Genres: New Adult, Romance
I’m the Mayor of London.
I’ve come to New York purely on business. The usual boring meetings with other politicians.
I don’t expect my time here to be exciting in the slightest.
But who’s that woman I met this morning? No, girl. That would be a more accurate term for her.
She’s only twenty-one years old. A college student. Someone who shouldn’t get mixed up with a guy like me.
But I can’t get her out of my mind. Every single time I close my eyes, I see her face.
How can someone I just met do this to me? That’s the kind of stuff that happens in movies. Not real life.
I know this will be a dangerous risk for me, but I can’t help it. I want her. I need her.
And whatever it may do to my career, I won’t stop until I have her.

Interview with Carlos Dash
What inspired you to write Mr. Prescott?
Answer: Nicholas Spark’s “The Notebook”
is what pushed me to finally sit down and write a love story of my own. My
debut novel,
“Mr. Prescott,” is about a man who
guards his heart against attachments, particularly when it comes to women.
Then, one day, he meets a woman who is the complete opposite of what he
considered to be his type. He starts to fall in love, and his realization that
he’s capable of such a thing was a joy to write. And the decision to make the
lead character the mayor of London comes from my fascination with British
culture.
When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?
Answer: The first time I seriously considered doing this
for a living was as a teenager. The ability to create entire stories and
characters based on purely my imagination was like discovering hidden treasure.
It changed my life.
What is the earliest age you remember reading your first
book?
Answer: I can’t recall my age at the time, but the first non-chapter
book that I ever read by myself was a Goosebumps book by R.L Stine. I was
obsessed with those as a kid.
What genre of books do you enjoy reading?
Answer: I enjoy reading any good book, regardless of what
genre it fits into. Lately, since I’m a romance author myself, I’ve been
consuming a lot of romance novels from Penny Wylder and Alexa Riley.
What is your favorite book?
Answer: The answer to this is a complicated one. I guess it
depends on what mood I’m in. Sometimes, “It’s kind of a funny story” is my
favorite book. Other times it can be “Shutter Island” or “The Notebook.”
You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your
favorite author and why?
Answer: I would say Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author.
As the male half of a writing duo that specializes in love stories, I
appreciate it when a man isn’t embarrassed to admit that he enjoys romantic
novels just as much as anyone.
If you could travel back in time here on earth to any place
or time. Where would you go and why?
Answer: I would go back to the 1950’s so that I could, if I’m
lucky, get to meet people like Audrey Hepburn, Cary Grant, and Grace Kelly in
person.
When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for
you or is it a difficult task?
Answer: The first draft is easy because the story is
already so vividly mapped out in my mind. But then the editing process starts,
and that can be challenging. The important thing is to stay passionate about
what you’re doing.
Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat?
Or any pets?
Answer: Sadly, my beloved cat of 15 years passed away of
cancer a few months ago. But he will always live on in my heart.
What is your "to die for", favorite food/foods to
eat?
Answer: I’m kind of a workout junkie, so I don’t hesitate
to consume things like Pizza and pasta.
Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be an
author?
Answer: Yes. The best advice I can give to an aspiring
author is to write what you’re passionate about, rather than just writing
whatever you think will sell. Trends come and go, but things like passion and
excitement for a story are what you need to succeed.
Author Bio:
I’m a guy who likes to cut right to the chase, so here we go: I’m a male author of Romance/Erotica novels that are told entirely from the POV of the male protagonist. If you enjoy happy endings and steamy tales about people falling in love quickly, my stories are for you.
