Interview with LM Preston

As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
I’d definitely choose a Geoffroy’s cat which is a rare leopardess cat. The cat has a destination unknown feel to it, and nine lives, which can describe the different types of stories my kitty persona has witnessed to tell. I’m a flexible author that write in many genres. I am independently creative in my writing and am known to write several genres in the same story.

How many hours a day do you put into your writing?
I write an hour a day, with the exception of times when I am launching a book or a course.

Do you read your book reviews? If yes, do they affect what you write in the future?
I do read my book reviews, and some have encouraged me to keep writing in a series that I’d plan to close as a stand alone.

Do you leave hidden messages in your books that only a few people will find?
Yes, there is a bit of symbolism found in them and tie ins to other books I’ve written.

Can you tell us a little bit about focus in Homeschooling and Working While Raising Amazing Learners?
The focus of Homeschooling and Working While Raising Amazing Learners is for parenting as a working parent whether you are homeschooling, helping your kid after school with educational remediation and assist in the journey with your child from elementary school until college.

Can you tell us a little bit about your next books or what you have planned for the future?
My plans are to accompany this book with courses that dive deeper into each aspect of the book, those courses are found here: https://empowered-steps.teachable.com/ .

Do you allow yourself a certain number of hours to write or do you write as long as the words come?
I write in spirts since my mind focuses on one point for only 20 minutes or so, thankfully I write fast and takes breaks during writing.

Do you have a certain number of words or pages you write per day?
Not usually, however, I have a goal of a 1,000 words a day.

What inspires you to write?
I have a creative mind and enjoy people watching. My husband and kids like reading my books so, they keep inspiring. Also, my readers who continue to purchase my books and tell me how my writing has impacted them.
