My Review:

Sixteen-year-old Mia witness the murder of her father by something that if asked would have said doesn’t exist, werewolves. Mia is very confused when the wolves don’t kill her. Why did the wolves not harm Mia? Why did they kill her father but not her? These are questions that Mia asked herself and more.

Mia lost her mother a long time ago and now her father is gone. Mia has a brother Zak who disappeared or left after their mother was killed in a car accident. Without any knowledge of her brothers whereabouts or any other family Mia fears that she will become a ward of the state until her uncle shows up to whisk Mia away to Hood Academy where he teaches.

Hood Academy is secret school that is hidden deep in the forest. Hood Academy is a school that teaches young ladies how to fight, kill and hunt werewolves. Mia is taught at the school that if you can see a wolf then you are a hunter.

Mia learns a few truths during her stay at the academy and the surrounding forest. She learns some truths about herself, her mother, her father, her brother and her uncle. Will these truths set her free or will they trap her forever?

Hood Academy is a great introduction into a whole new world of werewolves and hunters with a big twist on the wolves. The world building for Hood Academy is so amazing and real. Shelley Wilson knows how to tell a story that is believable and will draw you into its world and make you feel as if you are right there among the wolves and hunters fighting for your life deep in the forest. I could just see the moon and the surrounding darkness and the stars in the sky with maybe a little fog low on the ground as the hunters fought with their staffs or bows against the wolves.

I would recommend Hood Academy to anyone who loves a good book especially werewolves with a new twist on the wolves. Amazing story one which I hope to read more of in future books.
