Genre: Epic Fantasy, Fantasy, Adventure, Magic

Blurb:

The year is 1865. Artesia (Anna) Addison has completed one semester at the best school in Domhan, Fearghus Academy. Now, her magic class is harder, and the missions are more demanding. With her friendships growing stronger and her heart opening up, she feels that she can finally call this world her own.

Eilam Deforest is an important member of Artesia’s team, and his life is quickly unfolding. An encounter with a demon haunts him long after the mission ends, his criminal parents escape from prison, then an underclassman goes missing soon after.

When frightening circumstances make it so that Eilam vanishes from their lives, Artesia’s group must figure out how to work with a familiar but less friendly face: Evelyn Smith. This happens as the search-and-rescue for their ex-dead classmate kicks into gear.

Everyone must fight with all that they have, together and on their own. Losing means much worse than a bad grade. Alptraum Engel won’t go easy on them.

My Review:

Artesia (Anna) Addison is back for her second year at Fearghus Academy. Artesia is starting to fit in more at Fearghus. She is beginning to like her new life very much. She enjoys learning about her magic but her classes are harder this year than last year.

Strange things are going on, students are still turning up missing. Experiments are still being performed on students. Artesia and her team are sent out on a mission that involves a demon. Artesia meets a new friend Eilam Deforest who becomes an important member of their team.

When Eilam turns up missing they think it may be the demon from their mission or at least may have something to do with the demon. Artesia will do whatever it takes to find and rescue their friend.

Crystal Shards like its predecessor pulled me in from the first page and didn’t let go until I read that last page. I love this world of Artesia’s. The descriptions are so vividly written that I could just see each and every scene as it was being played out. It made me feel as if I was standing right beside them when they were fighting and using their magic.

I really liked that Artesia always wanted to follow the rules to do the right thing but Eilam was just the opposite as following the rules did not come first on his list. I can’t wait for more from this world and the characters in the next book in the Fearghus Academy series.

I highly recommend Crystal Shards to all fans of magic and anyone who likes books with an academy setting and or demons. One-click your copy of Crystal Shards today!

Be sure and check out book one in the Fearghus Academy Series
