I have seen a fallen ship once, heard the bone chill
screams and swam in the blood red water. I have fought the rakam and lived. I
have loved a woman and lost her to the waves. I have seen the black kiasheen.
Now, I am on a ship I do not recognize with people I do not call friend. They
ask me who I am. I tell them little…
For I am here for them.
I must find their secrets. I must speak to the woman with the blue eyes. When I
am finished, perhaps I will tell them who I am, for they have heard my story,
and they think they know the end.
They are wrong.
This is only the start.
And tonight, I begin.
My
Review:
I received a free copy of the book from the author for my
honest opinion.
The Shattered Islands is about a lonely man in search of
the love of his life who was taken from him a long time ago. He sails the seas
on whatever ship he can catch a ride on. The ship that he happens to be on in
The Shattered Islands is attacked and a lot of the crew are lost in the battle
but finally after the few that are left have almost gone their last mile
another ship comes to their rescue and saves them from their attackers.
The Shattered Islands may be a short story or a short
novella but it is filled with a lot of characters and it also gives you enough
background info on the characters and their situations to know what is going
on. You get all the info you need to know who each character is and what their
purpose is. It has a lot of blood and gore for such a small story. It is like a
big story in a little book.
The Shattered Islands gives you all the info you need to
keep you hanging on right up until the very end. While it will keep you hanging
on and wanting more it does not leave you hanging in the middle wondering what
just happened when you reach the end of the story. But believe me you will want
more. Why? Because Karpov-Kinrade is just good like that. I think that they
throw a little bit of magic in to their stories to keep you coming back for more.
Well you know something like the subliminal messages on tv commercials. No
seriously though if you have not read The Shattered Islands yet then trust me
you need to grab your copy today and get busy reading.
You need to check out their other books as well. All of
their books are out of this world amazing. Let me warn you if you read just one
of their books then let me tell you, you are going to be hooked and you will
have found yourself a couple of more fantastic authors to add to your top list
of authors.
