BLURB:

From USA TODAY Bestseller, Karpov Kinrade, comes another epic tale in The Nightfall Chronicles.

I am the Princess of Ravens, but soon I shall be Queen. I am the keeper of the songs for my people, but soon I must sing the song of the dead for my brother. I am the one the world looks to, but I am also what they fear.

They just don't know it yet.

My enemies play a dangerous game. And soon they will regret their dance with the Raven.

This is a short novel that takes place between House of Ravens and Daughter of Strife, from the point of view of Princess Corinne.

My Review:

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

I know I say it all the time but there is nothing else I can say when I have read a book by the husband and wife writing duo team of Karpov-Kinrade but they have done it again. They have written another amazing book. Song of Kai will take a hold of you right from the very beginning and will not let you go even when you have read the last word. It will hold on to you long after you have read the last word and maintain that hold right up until the next book in the series.

In Song of Kai we get to know more of Princess Corinne, Prince Wytt, and Prince Kai along with some new characters as well as some of the old ones too. Corinne takes us on a journey into the past with her two brothers when they were children growing up in the House of Ravens. She told us about some of the things her and her twin brother Wytt would get into and how their older brother Kai was always there hovering over them like a mother hen. Kai was a great big brother and would lay down his own life for either one of his siblings and they would do the same for him as well.

Corinne was a very strong person and had a lot of things on her plate some she liked and some she didn't. But she always stood up for what she thought was right and what she believed in. She would fight for family and friends with the same vengeance if they were on the side of what was right.

Song of Kai is filled with love and violence with lots of twist and turns that will have you crying one minute and laughing the next so hard that your belly will be hurting. It is definitely one of those that will keep you on your toes wanting and dreading what is going to pop out at you on the next page. But you will love it not matter what it is or maybe not.

Just when you think you may have all the characters figured out then something happens that makes you wonder if you are on the right track. The authors or the characters will take you down one road and then you end up at a fork in the road and you think they are going to take one road and they end up taking another. And then you are all confused and upset so that you don't know which way to turn. You just throw up your hands and slap yourself in the face with your mouth open and finally you are like no way that did not just happen.

As I said some of the characters will fool you and you are not sure about them. They are real good at keeping who they are a secret. Like I think King Varian has a lot more to tell us. King Varian has not played all of his cards yet and the man sure does like a good game of chess. King Varian has so far showed us what a bad person he can be but I have this feeling about him that there is something not quite what it seems about him. I think that man has a lot yet to be revealed. I would love to hear what he has to say in his own words in a book of his own when everything is said and done and his story has come to light.

I cried and cried for Corinne, Wytt and Scarlett when Corinne had to sing Kai's song. My heart ached for all of them. Corinne's story is a great addition to The Nightfall Chronicles. I would love to have Wytt's and King Varian's story as well or at least have Wytt's pov. I love reading each characters pov. You get to know how they feel and how they see things.

I can't wait to read the next book in The Nightfall Chronicles; Daughter of Strife. If you have not read Song of Kai then I suggest that you grab a copy today but I think you would enjoy Corinne's story so much better if you started with Scarlett's story in Court of Nightfall first and read your way up to the Song of Kai so that you can understand more of what is happening in everyone's lives.
