Author Interview-

What inspired you to write, If We Never Met ?

My book is a collection of short stories. Two of the stories were written for anthologies and the third was a short I had written to round out the collection.

When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?

I was probably 6 or 7 when I loved to write stories about princesses princes, and evil witches or angry dragons.  And like so many fairy tales, the princess was stuck rescuing the prince from the bad guys.

Then as an adult, I opened a bakery and self published a cookbook. Once I realized how easy it was, I decided to finally write my novel.

What is the earliest age you remember reading your first book?

In kindergarten.  We had a list of books we had to read before first grade and I was the first to finish the list. My prize was the book, Jog Frog Jog.

What genre of books do you enjoy reading?

I mostly read mystery/ thrillers.  But I also love chick lit and romance.

What is your favorite book?

My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult

You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and why?

I love JK Rowling because she is the epitome of struggling author. She was a young Mom trying to sneak in writing time and then once she did finish, she got rejected so many times but didn’t give up. And now look at her. She is definitely a woman I admire so much.

If you could travel back in time here on earth to any place or time. Where would you go
and why?

Italy during the renaissance.  I love the art from this period and would have loved to meet Michaelangelo, da Vinci and so many others.

When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult task?

It is so hard.  I have tons of ideas and love outlining/ planning my stories.  But then to actually sit and write is so hard for me.  Actually it is the starting.  If I sit and write two words, I can sit and write all day; it’s just very difficult for me to actually start writing.

Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?

Rue is our 100 pound Lab (yes we named her after the character in Hunger Games), Scrappy is our 7 pound Chihuahua, who thinks he is an attack dog. Then we have 2 kittens: Cali and Harley Quinn.

What is your "to die for", favorite food/foods to eat?

Anything Italian.  I love pasta. And then for dessert anything chocolate like mousse cake or brownies!!

Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be an author?

Just do it.  It’s so hard to do it but if you persevere it is worth it. Plus we are so lucky to have self publishing now.  We can put anything we want out there and not have to risk rejection from publishing houses. Of course self publishing is still a lot of work. Find a tribe of writers on Facebook and learn from authors who are already established. I am so thankful to my FB writing group, the Writing Wenches.

My Review-

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

In If We Never Met there are three very well written stories that will grab a hold of your heart and keep on tugging. Each story has its own amazing and awesome couples that have a hard time either trusting in people or has had their heart broken some way or another in the past. They either don’t think that they deserve to be loved or they have lost someone very dear and close to their hearts and have built up walls around their hearts. The very handsome and dreamy men in each story kind of have a hard time getting these wonderful and beautiful women to trust and love them.

I don’t get into reading just romance books much and am into dystopian at the moment but once in a while we need to mix things up a little bit. I am thankful for the chance to have read If We Never Met it was way more than I thought it would be. Every once in a while I do enjoy a good love story just to see someone happy for a change and falling in love without some monster chasing them around.

If We Never Met was an awesome book with some awesome stories and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a good love story or stories. Three amazing stories in one book for one price. So grab your copy today and you will probably want to through in a box of tissue as well.
