Doc has been a member of the Desert Rebels for a long time. He had his own clinic until a sweet, beautiful nurse came on board and ruined everything. Harlow is married and a complication Doc didn't need. He tried; he really did. But after a while he couldn't stand working beside a woman he wanted more than he needed air to breathe

Giving his practice up seemed the only solution, but life has a way of kicking you in the ass when you least expect it. Harlow becomes friends with some of the old ladies and suddenly she's frequenting the clubhouse and club owned bar. There's only one way Doc can survive being around her.

Make the beauty hate him any way he can.

Interview with Tory Richards

How many books have you written and which is your favorite?According to Amazon I have 43 books. And I would have to say the first book I got published, Kiss Me! will always be my favorite. It originally came out with Whiskey Creek Press titled Cupid’s Arrow.

If you’re planning a sequel, can you share a tiny bit about your plans for it?

I’m not planning a sequel for Kiss Me! but I am writing a sequel right now for The Biker Next Door series. Book 2, Eagle will be out early next year. The location is a small town in Maine, Georgetown, and the local motorcycle club are the good guys. They’re focusing on ridding the area of illegal dog fighting, and they also do investigative work.

Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

Well, I do have several series as well as single standalone romances. And some of my characters appear in more than one book before getting their own story. So there’s that connection.

How did you come up with the title for your book?

Doc, my newest release, is a member of the Desert Rebels MC. There are 8 books in the series and each title is the name of the hero in the book. It just made sense since it was a series to go with a single name.

How long did it take you to write this book?

I’d have to say a year, which is not the norm for me. For a while my life was turned upside down with deaths in the family, and then health issues. I couldn’t focus on writing for a while.

    What does the title mean?

It’s just the name of the hero in the book. Doc is actually a doctor for the club.

What did you learn when writing the book?

Doc is the last book in the series and as I was writing “The End” I realized that I was going to miss some of my characters. A lot happens in 8 full-length books. You give so much of yourself, and time, that it’s tough saying goodbye. Writing a book #9 isn’t off the table but I’m not planning on it right this minute.

    What surprised you the most?

Kind of what I said under question #7, how much I’m going to miss some of the characters.

Have you ever killed off a character your readers loved?

Yes. In The Sentinels I killed off Tanner’s dad. He had a big role in the book but it was necessary to the story. I got a little flack over that. Even my editor had something to say about it because he reminded her of her grandfather.

What do you do to get inside your character’s heads?

Actually they’re in my head. Especially when I first go to bed at night and I’m lying there trying to get to sleep. They work things out that I might have had a problem with during that day, lol.
