Excerpt:

Okay,” said Mrs. James, “give me a kiss and I will see you when you get home from school.”

Mrs. Bridges passed Mrs. James in the doorway as she left for work.

Hello, girls!” exclaimed Mrs. Bridges. (Mrs. Bridges was always much too loud in the mornings.)

Hello,” replied Victoria as she cleared her plate from the table. “Um, I have to go and get my school things together,” she said.

Victoria thought it best to avoid Mrs. Bridges until it was time to leave for school. She packed her school bag, grabbed her lunch from the fridge and shouted a quick “See you!” to Mrs. Bridges and Rebecca from the hallway as she headed out the door.

My Review:

Victoria James is on her way to school when all of a sudden she starts to shiver and shake. She is so cold that she can’t stop shaking. When she gets to school her best friend tries to help her get warm. Then her teacher tries to help Victoria. Then her PE teacher tries his best to help with no luck. Victoria is still shaking. Victoria’s best friend thinks she has a case of the chilly willies.

After both of her teachers have no success in helping Victoria they decide their next best option is to take her to see the principal. The principal tries his luck at making Victoria warm but he has no luck either.

Victoria spends the rest of her day in class just trying to get warm. What is Victoria going to do? Will she have the chilly willies for the rest of her life? Oh, dear me.

I enjoyed reading Victoria’s story and how everyone tried their best to help her. Victoria James: And the Mysterious Case of the Chilly Willies grabbed my attention from the first page and never let go.

Victoria James: And the Mysterious Case of the Chilly Willies will warm up your heart. The graphics were amazing in helping you to see Victoria’s story. Victoria will pull you into her story and keep you hanging on page after page.
