Leah Watton’s practical joke has spiralled way out of
control—all to impress a crush…
With a prank online video, Leah hopes to catch the attention
of Jake Colton, a cute, blond-haired, blue-eyed co-worker she’s had a crush on
for months. But instead of sending it to Jake, she manages to forward the clip
to her boss—who buys every gory second.
When mass panic ensues, Leah learns the video is more than a
staged act…
The government is calling the virus AM13. As the outbreak
spreads, citizens are forced to stay indoors while they assess the gravity of
the illness. Most people are quarantined in their homes, but Leah, Jake, and
Leah’s best friend Michelle are some of the unlucky few who are stuck at work
when the Lockdown occurs.
That’s where she first encounters one of the infected…
Aside from a contaminated woman devouring one of her co-workers,
Leah has another problem. Does she do as she’s ordered and stay at work? Or
should she disobey government orders and break free to reunite with her family?
She can’t go it alone—after all, Leah has none of the skills
needed to survive—but with Michelle and Jake by her side, not even a contagious
virus and a sea of the dead can keep her from…
Breaking out of the Lockdown…

My Review:
There is this guy Jake in the office at a tv new station
where Leah Watton works that she has a bit of a crush on. Leah has tried on
several occasions to grab Jake’s attention but so far no dice. Jake is a bit of
a practical joker who likes playing jokes on people. Leah happens to run across
a story on Youtube one day about a zombie virus called AM13 and sends it to
Jake hoping to catch his attention.
Later on she realizes that she also sent it to her boss
Jamie and now Leah is worried that she is going to be in trouble and lose her
job. But Jamie takes it as to be the truth and does more research on the matter
and then plays it on the air later giving Leah credit for the video.
The government decides to call for a lockdown to quarantine
everyone inside hoping to stop the spread of the virus. But like Leah most
people don’t believe that people are turning into zombies and so don’t stay
indoors. After seeing a zombie attack someone and start eating them Leah then
starts to believe that the virus is real and not a hoax.
It’s not long before Leah starts to get a little claustrophobic
from staying cooped up inside and thinking about her family and if she will
ever see them again. Leah decides that she if this is the end she would like to
spend it with her family and with the belief that her boss won’t let her leave
she decides that she will go during the middle of the night when everyone else
is asleep so no one can stop her. But really who could stop her she is an
adult. She knows she can’t make it out there all by herself but she will if
that is her only choice but she is in luck as her best friend Michelle and Jake
want to go as well.
Lockdown is unlike any zombie book I think I have ever read
before. I have had Lockdown on my to read list for a long time but I just kept
putting it off reading other books but I wouldn’t take it off my list and I am
so glad that I finally opened it up and started reading. I loved that we got to
know Leah before we saw any zombies. I also liked that she didn’t believe that
the zombie virus was real well not until she saw it with her own two eyes.
Leah may not have been a strong tough kicka** kind of girl
but she was very brave to go out amongst all those zombies to see her family
again. If we were faced with zombies ourselves how many of us would take the
step that she did? Most of us would probably crawl under the bed and stay there
and say “wake me when it’s over”. We would not want to go out and come face to
face with a zombie unless we had no choice.
I love reading about zombies and Lockdown totally rocks the
zombie world! And now on to the next book in the AM13 Outbreak series
Forgotten. I would recommend Lockdown to anyone who loves zombies!!!!

Every attempt to contain the deadly AM13 virus has failed,
leaving humanity on the brink of extinction…
The plague is spreading out of control with nocure in sight.
Then thegovernment announces its new plan—a sanctuary in an area completely
untouched by the infected—as long as you can get there alive and unscathed.
Ethan Watton has managed to survive this long, even with OCD
making every day more hellish than it already is…
Ethan’s obsessive-compulsive disorder dramatically affected
his life before the infection began. Now he’s desperate to get as far away from
the zombie virus as humanly possible. Isolated and afraid, Ethan thinks there
is noway in hell he will survivethe epidemic.
Alyssa Turner has spent her teenage years prepping for the
undead to challenge her zombie killing skills…
Alyssa knows with absolute certainty that she will survive
the AM13 virus. She’s read all the books, watched all the films, and done all
the research. She’s strong, tough, and a self-proclaimed badass. Any group
would be lucky to fight alongside her…until the unthinkable makes her doubt
every skill she’s acquired.
Dr. Jones is a scientist who doesn’t understand why he was
selected to produce a cure…
Surely there are survivors more experienced in virology than
he is. And what will happen to him—and the rest of the species—if he fails? Is
the fate of the human race really resting on his shoulders? Or are there others
working toward the same goal?
With the zombies multiplying and survivors struggling to
make it to the sanctuary, Ethan, Alyssa, and Dr. Jones fight to fulfil their
destinies. If they fail, their fate is sealed, and they will join the millions
of others who have been…

My Review:
Alyssa Turner, a sixteen year old girl who has spent most of
her life reading or watching everything she could get hands on about zombies.
She knew that a zombie apocalypse could be possible. She had watched so many tv
shows and movies not to mention the books she had read about zombies that it
made her the most qualified person to survive a zombie apocalypse.
Alyssa stayed close to home in the beginning but after
losing her family to the zombies she comes to the conclusion that she can
longer stay there so she hits the road. At first she just kind of wonders
around by herself stays here and there wherever she can find a safe place. But
after a while she needs to be around other people so she sets out again looking
for people this time. She is tired of being alone and needs human
companionship.
Ethan Watton has OCD and is so afraid of catching the zombie
virus or any kind of disease that he tries to isolate himself from people and
zombies. Ethan has had OCD for a long time even before the zombie outbreak. All
Ethan wants is just to find a safe place that he can stay that will keep him
away from the zombies so when he hears on the radio that people are being
evacuated and to go to the airport he takes off. But when he arrives he can’t
make himself get on a plane with a bunch of people that could potentially give
him the zombie virus or who knows what else so he leaves the airport wondering
around just trying to keep the zombies away.
Dr. Jones is given the opportunity to work in a lab trying
to find a cure for the Am13 virus. He is given live specimens to work with or
maybe that is dead specimens. It really is how you look at it I guess, live
people or zombies. He is told that his wife and daughter will be taken care of
*wink* *wink* if he will work with them and try to find a cure.
When Alyssa hears the same message Ethan did on the radio
she decides to go to the airport as well but when she arrives everyone is gone
and the only thing she finds is not from “E”. She reads the note and goes
looking for E but all she finds is more notes. Who is E? Where is E?
I love reading about zombies and I have thoroughly enjoyed
reading Forgotten and following along with Alyssa and Ethan on their journey
through the zombie infested world. I love the world building in Forgotten it is
just so different than any zombie books I have read before. Samie Sands has
taken the world of zombies to a whole new level. I love it!! I can’t wait for
the next book Extinct. If you love reading about zombies then you are going to
love Forgotten and the whole AM13 Outbreak series.

Writing books about the horrors of the zombie apocalypse is
one thing—but Georgie Blake can’t believe it has become her reality…
She never expected her fictional stories of blood, death,
and the consumption of human flesh to jump off the page into the real world.
She certainly didn’t think she’d survive this long if they had. As a shy
novelist, she was sure she’d be one of the first to die.
Safe in the Sanctuary, Georgie holds on to hope for a
cure...
But that’s not all she holds on to. The government has
promised the people of the Sanctuary that they can return home. The rumours are
rife that there is an antidote on the horizon. But even if not, the infected
are dying out, throwing the treacherous AM13 virus to the brink of extinction.
If the infection dies out, this horrible nightmare Georgie is living in will be
a distant memory.
Until everything that’s right goes terribly wrong...
Soon after meeting some new friends in the Sanctuary,
Georgie learns she’s going to have to face the monsters outside the walls if
she wants to return to her old life. But for a scared, introverted bookworm, it
may be too much to consider...
Will Georgina conquer her fears of the dead to return home,
or will she be one of the countless others who have gone Extinct?

My Review:
Georgie Blake is one of the survivors who made it to the
sanctuary, an island, a place that the government has taken everyone. They are
now waiting on a cure so they can go home.
The government has people back home in the UK cleaning the place up and
killing all the zombies so it will be safe for their return.
Georgie and everyone on the island believes that they are
safe from zombies you know that there are no zombies on the island but she soon
learns different when she witness some being attacked by a zombie and she
figures out that they have been lied to. While she is running away from the
attack she finds a book, a journal that belongs to Dr. Jones the man who is on
the island too trying to find the cure.
Georgie and Andy decide to take Dr. Jones’ journal and viral
of the zombie cure to Michael, a friend of Tom’s who is also working on a cure.
They are in the hopes that with Michael’s help they can get the cure out and
save a lot of lives. But Georgie has a long road ahead of her and a lot of
obstacles to cross before she reaches Michael. She will lose some friends along
the way. Some friends will also betray her. Georgie has no clue of who she can
trust anymore. She has never put her trust into too many people in her life and
now when zombie apocalypse it is even worse.
I have really and truly loved reading the AM13 Outbreak
series and am sad to have read the last book. Well with any hope maybe it will
not be the last one. I would have to say I think that Extinct is my favorite
but don’t get me wrong I loved Lockdown and Forgotten too. What I have loved
the most about the AM13 Outbreak series is that is it away different than any
book about zombies that I have ever read and the zombies themselves are just
amazing. I do love me some zombies.
