She survived the tumultuous trip to Venus. But her struggle to save humanity has only just begun.
Charlotte is devastated she still hasn’t found her mother. After braving certain death and cold space to get to the Morning Star, she’s determined to find out what happened to the crews that came before her. But after a terrifying nightmare wakes her and leads her to the same cavern from her dream, she’s shaken when she falls through the floor and plunges even farther into the depths of the planet.
After discovering a settlement of the previous mission’s survivors, Charlotte is blown away they haven’t aged a day in twenty years. Mesmerized by meeting the very people she learned about in school, this resolute researcher is eager to share her miraculous findings with her crew. But after the unusual colony’s friendly facade crumbles and one of her own is killed, Charlotte’s quest to save her people and herself may be terminated.
With Earth on the brink of collapse, can this pioneering scientist expose the secret and salvage the mission?
First Colony is the gripping second story in the Tears of Venus YA sci-fi adventure series. If you like exploring new worlds, compelling storylines, and shocking twists, then you’ll love Gayle Katz’s must-read science fiction book!
My Review:
The sun is dying leaving everyone on it in a perilous situation. A crew was sent to check out Venus to see if it was inhabitable for humans. This crew was never heard from again.
Charlotte Miller’s mother was a part of that crew. Charlotte has somehow manged to find herself a place on the next ship going to Venus to try and find her mother and hopefully find a way to save the Earth from the dying sun.
First Colony is filled with lots of twists and turns that I never saw coming. I enjoyed reading First Colony and can’t wait to dive into the next book Worlds Apart to see where it all goes next.
First Colony gives us a first glimpse into the world of aliens and life on another planet. I sorely loved this world that has been created for First Colony. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next. And believe me when I say that the twists are enormous.
I am a big fan of Star Trek and truly enjoyed reading First Colony as it reminded me so much of all the Star Trek movies and TV shows.
I would highly recommend First Colony to anyone who likes Star Trek! Grab your copy of First Colony today!
