Rhett Parker hates Christmas. When the Mayor of Winterstorm has an unfortunate accident and ends up in a coma, Rhett is left hanging with the proverbial Santa Gift Bag. To make matters worse, the only one who can help him save their money-making tourist season is his office nemesis, Ms. Christmas cheer in a bottle, Parker Cruz.
Parker Cruz, the Mayor’s daughter, is determined to save Christmas now that her dad isn’t there to make it all happen. The only person standing in her way is the town’s Scrooge, the newly appointed Mayor, Rhett Parker.
She’s willing to do whatever it takes to make good on her promise to her dad. So, when a series of unlucky events strike, and the residents start talking about canceling Christmas, Parker does the unthinkable. She agrees to a fake date with her new boss.
Love is always in the air during the holidays at Winterstorm Village. So what if this year it’s all pretend? Or is it?
My Review:
Like It's Christmas was a sweet romantic read that grabbed my heart from the first page and never let go. Once I started reading I couldn’t stop. Like It's Christmas kept reminding me of When Calls the Heart. The descriptions were well done I had no problem picturing it in my head. I kept seeing many scenes from When Calls the Heart from their Christmas specials.
Parker Cruz is planning the town’s biggest Christmas yet, until the newly appointed Mayor, Rhett Parker takes over and cuts the Christmas budget. Parker is furious and tries her best to get Rhett to reinstate the budget with no luck.
Parker is very upset when she finds out that she can’t have the Christmas tree she wants because it no longer fits into the budget. To make matters worse a blizzard rages through town, leaving a trail of devastation behind. Parker is so upset with the newly appointed Mayor for denying her what she wants she quilts her job leaving the whole mess in his hands.
Parker realizes what she has done to the town by quilting and asks for her job back to save Christmas. Parker and Rhett decide the best way to save Christmas is to pretend they are dating. The more time Rhett and Parker spend together on their fake dates the more the sparks fly. Yeah, things begin to heat up rather quickly between the two.
But it’s not real, is it? Their love for each other is fake, right? Only one way to find out and that is to grab a copy of Like It's Christmas and read!
