Heart Of The Wolf (Eye Of The Storm #3) By Dianna Hardy
Published December 18th 2013 by Satin Smoke Press
Pages 197
Summary from Goodreads:
The third book in the erotic, dark paranormal fantasy series, Eye Of The Storm.
Lydia becomes ever closer to her three mates. However, with unrest all around, she is struggling to keep her wolves together for her first full moon, just twenty-four hours away.
A trip back home for Ryan could bring much needed support for them all, but at what cost?
As The Trident close in on Ryan's pack, the pack itself becomes divided over Lydia's presence and Lawrence is encouraged to return as the Alpha. But they don't know his secret, and he's doubtful of his ability to protect them. Can he fulfil his rightful role, or will his efforts prove fatal?
Meanwhile, among the arid plains of Egypt, in a long-forgotten city, one man is pitting himself against the beast inside him in order to find salvation, only to realise, so much more is at stake than his soul.
(Notes: Book three of a series - it is highly recommended that the books are read in order. This is an adult, paranormal fantasy containing scenes of explicit sexual content and some violence, entwined with romantic elements. Written in British English.)

Excerpt:
She had had to speak to them alone after all, accompanied by the lawyer, but it wasn't half as bad as she had feared. The questions were probing – questions about her and Brendan's relationship – which she had been expecting, but since she had nothing to hide, answering them had come easily and she had divulged pretty much everything, including their 'friends with benefits' agreement. The hardest question to answer, she concluded with the grimace, had been the one about why she'd had so many packs of condoms in her rucksack at the time of visiting Brendan.
Lovely.
“How many 'benefits' do you receive exactly?” one the officers had asked, without a hint of remorse at his snarkiness.
Wonderful.
They were buy one, get one free,” had been her pointed reply. Completely true, as the receipt proved, and it had shut him up, and earned her a small smile from policeman number two.
Now, she was going to have to deal with all the questions she was no doubt going to get from her males, because there was no way they hadn't been listening in on the conversation with their super-sharp hearing.

My Review:
I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.
The time is near, the time of Lydia's first turn. She wants and needs all of her mates Ryan, Taylor and Lawrence with her. But she is having a hard time keeping all three of them home at the same time with everything that is going on. The pact may have to go to war with the Trident if they keep insisting on and trying to take Lydia. Neither one of her mates is about to let that happen without a fight or more like over their dead cold bodies. Ryan has to leave for a while but promises to be back in time for her first turn when the moon is full. He would not be leaving at this time if it was not important. He has to make a trip back home to visit his old pact to try and get the help they need to fight the Trident.
Lydia cares for and loves all three of her mates very much so much so that she has become very aggressive and protective of them. She is having a hard time with one of the pact's females that has not mated or had her first turn yet either. This woman Selena has had her eyes and heart set on Taylor even before Lydia ever came into to the picture. Selena wants Taylor for her mate and will do whatever it takes to get him even if it means hurting Taylor himself or killing Lydia or anyone that gets in her way. The sad thing is Selena is a very nice person that would probably give you the shirt off her back under different circumstances.
Lydia's first full moon and first turning has her worried and kind of afraid and nervous as well but it doesn't stop her from getting all hot and bother when she is around one of her mates. All she really has to do is just think about one of them or all three and she is ready to take care of business and does. Ryan, Taylor and Lawrence are all so hot themselves that they will make your tongue come out and slap your brains out.
Oh let me tell ya they was this one scene that had me laughing so hard my gut was hurting. In this scene the police had stopped by asking Lydia questions about her relationship with a friend of hers that was murdered. They ask her about their "friends with benefits" thing they had going on and why she had so many condoms with her when she visited him. One of the officers asked her "how many benefits did she receive?" She told them they were buy one get one free and she even had the receipt to prove it. She knew that she was going to have to explain that one to her mates because there was no way they didn't hear it with their super-sharp hearing.
Heart Of The Wolf is so hot it is sizzling. I really don't know why it has taken me so long to read it when I knew all along that it would be a great book. Heart Of The Wolf is one of those books that you don't want to put down but you know what it is so hot that you don't have a choice sometimes. I wish that I would have read it before now. I could kick my own self in the behind for not doing so. Dianna is one of the most amazing authors and I have loved everything that I have read that was written by her.
If you have not read any of the books in the Eye Of The Storm series then I suggest that you start with the first book in the series Releasing The Wolf and then go on to the second book Cry Of The Wolf. Both are just as amazing as Heart Of The Wolf. I also recommend that you check out Dianna's The Witching Pen Novellas too.

About The Author:
Dianna Hardy photo DiannaHardyColourPortfolioSmall.jpg
International bestselling author of
The Witching Pen series, and the Eye Of The Storm series.
"I write both full-length novels and short fiction. As a writer, I like my stories to move along at lightning speed without compromising character build-up, and I like some humour entwined in them too. My books are fast-paced, and I liken reading a good novella to watching a TV episode of a series - something's happening in every scene and there's always one hell of an ending!"
Dianna Hardy combines a titillating mix of contemporary and paranormal romance in to her writing, as well as urban and dark fantasy, to bring you stories that are action-packed, fast-paced and not short of heat, with the focus on both character development and the plot. She writes full-length novels and short fiction. She has also written poetry (first published in 1997) and esoteric books and articles. Nowadays, she chooses to concentrate on writing fiction.
In December 2012, Releasing The Wolf hit the Kindle Paranormal Fantasy charts in both the US and the UK, where it stayed for three months, enjoying a highest ranking of #20. Both books in the Eye Of The Storm series have enjoyed success in the top 100 of Fantasy charts on Kindle US, Kindle UK, and iTunes (Australia, top 40). The Witching Pen series, 'Til Death Do Us Part and A Silver Kiss (Vampire Poetry), have also hit the top 100 of iBooks charts (Fantasy, Romance and Horror) in ten different countries worldwide.
Although quite active online, Dianna prefers the quiet company of nature and animals to the hustle and bustle of people. She loves anything paranormal (she doesn't really consider it "para"), organic food, walking barefoot, the smell of the woods after rain, and summer days.
However, she is also sustained by coffee, chocolate and the occasional vodka.
She currently lives in Surrey, England with her partner and their daughter, where writes full-time.
