Blurb:
A hunted Spirit Master. A fractured monarchy. A war brewing on both sides of the border.
Mali LaSalle is done running. After surviving raiders, royal assassins, and betrayal on all sides, she’s heading toward Cymraeg. Her only goal: stay alive long enough to expose the monarchy’s lies.
But King Magnu isn’t done with her yet. With an army of corrupted Elemental Masters and a twisted ally who can manipulate minds, he’s turning outcasts into weapons. And he’s made one thing clear—Mali won’t reach safety without a fight.
Caer, now a fugitive prince stripped of power, must decide what he’s willing to destroy to save the girl he loves. As forbidden truths rise from the shadows and a legendary prophecy begins to unfold, old loyalties will be tested—and new enemies may wear familiar faces.
Spirit and Water throws readers deeper into a brutal, magic-scarred world where bloodlines lie, power is stolen, and one wrong choice could spark a war.
Perfect for fans of Shadow and Bone and An Ember in the Ashes, this dark YA fantasy is packed with deadly elemental magic, rising rebellion, and heart-pounding tension that won’t let go. Start reading today!
My Review:
After saving Halifax, Mali is determined to rescue every village she can before they are destroyed by King Magnus. Mali, along with all her loyal friends, sets out to do just that: save as many as they can. Mali is heading toward Cymraeg to defeat King Magnus and dismantle his world from the inside out while revealing all his secrets to the public. However, King Magnus has it out for Mali as well, and he is set on stopping her. Their journey to Cymraeg proves perilous, with many battles along the way.
I would love to see Spirit and Water adapted into a TV show, as the magic would be truly enchanting. The descriptions are so well written that I could envision the magic as it flowed from each individual and surrounded them as if it were a part of them, which it is, of course. What an amazing spectacle it would be to see this on the big screen, so to speak.
I adore the world of Cymraeg Tales. I enjoyed getting to know all the characters better and learning who they are, what they would do for those they love and care about, and how they strive to save the lives of strangers.
I can’t wait to discover what lies ahead for our friends in the next book in the Cymraeg Tales.
