Pak Han-Yong’s day is here. An elite hacker with Unit 101 of the North Korean military, he’s labored for years to launch Project Sonnimne: a series of deadly viruses set to cripple Imperialist infrastructure.

And with one tap of his keyboard, the rewards are immediate.

Brendan Chogan isn’t a hero. He’s an out-of-work parking enforcement officer and one-time collegiate boxer trying to support his wife and children. But now there’s a foreign enemy on the shore, a blackout that extends across America, and an unseen menace targeting him.

Brendan must do whatever it takes to keep his family safe.

In the wake of the cyber attacks, electrical grids fail, satellites crash to earth, and the destinies of nine strangers collide.

Strangers whose survival depends upon each other’s skills and courage.

For fans of REVOLUTION and Tom Clancy, ALL SYSTEMS DOWN is a riveting cyber war thriller that presents a threat so credible you'll be questioning reality.

My Review:

A deadly virus has been unleashed on the world. It is shutting down all electric devices. Causing catastrophic events for the whole world, people are dying or are going to die but not necessarily from the virus itself but the results of the virus could lead to death and peril of the human race.

A computer virus has been unleashed into the cyber world and plunging the world into darkness in more ways than one. The electricity has been shut down leaving the world in the dark, communications as in phones, email, messengers have left people in the dark with no way to contact loved ones, banks are closing, debt machines are going haywire.

Brendan Chogan left home that morning for a job interview so he could take care of his family to not only keep them fed but to give them the things that they want but when he returned home the world was shutting down and no one has a clues as to why the world maybe coming to an end as they know it. To keep his family safe Brendan may have to go against everything he believes in and do things he never thought he would ever do.

When I read the summary for All Systems Down and caught just a few of the words like deadly virus, hackers, cyber attacks, electrical grids fail, satellites crash to earth that is all it took and I knew I had to read it. The world that the author created for All Systems Down was astronomical. The characters all seemed so real and believable. You felt as if you were there with them and your adrenaline was going if not as fast almost as fast as theirs.

I couldn’t believe it when I found out that this was Sam’s first book. I was like no way. The story and the characters themselves all flowed along leaving you on the edge of your seat just waiting to see where they were going next. I can’t wait to read more of Sam’s books in the near future and I definitely can’t wait for the next book in the The Cyber War series.

I would like to recommend All Systems Down to anyone who likes to read about computer virus, hackers and end of the world type thing's.
