Blurb:

There was something evil living in Andrew. I’d seen it in his eyes, reflecting back at me like a spotlight. It was the brightest darkness I’d ever seen, bright enough to snuff every one of us out…

Still reeling from loss, Kellan and Regan set out to rescue Harper from Andrew and his men. Only now they aren’t just fighting to free a teenage girl, they’re fighting to keep a promise to the man who saved them, knowing if they fail, Harper won’t be the only one at risk.

Joining forces with a new group means having help and making friends, but it also brings new conflict and the risk of losing everything they’ve worked to build over the last night years. With zombies banging at their door and the threat of danger around every corner, Regan and Kellan will have to fight to keep their world secure and their secret from getting out.

My Review:

After rescuing Harper from Andrew and his men Kellan and Regan run into a spot of trouble with their truck and are in need of a bit of help with this guy Bill comes by and sees them. Bill takes them back to his home to meet his “family”. Kellan and Regan figure it is best to hang with Bill and his group until it is safe to return to their home. But tragedy strikes during the night leaving Bill and his group with no home.

With nowhere to go or turn Kellan and Regan decide to take the group of people back with them. They trust Bill and his people but they set up some strict rules for them to follow once they are back home. After the last group of people they let into to their home and what went down they are not ready to totally trust anyone at the moment if ever. With new people around it will make things easier for everyone. More people mean fewer chores.

They thought with more people around that everything would make everything better but that is not to be the case. Zombies start to appear at the fences more and more each day. They know something is not right but what they are not sure. Every time they go out to look for more supplies zombies just seem to pop up everywhere. The zombies that keep popping up are acting strangely or at least a little different than normal. Where are all the zombies coming from? Why are they so many? Why do they seem different?

The Brightest Darkness is filled with lots and lots of action and zombie fighting and killing. Ohhh I love it. I love all the zombie fighting and you don’t know if the main star is going to come out alive. Zombie parts flying in all directions with all the blood and gore. I could see it all playing out in my head like a movie. The Brightest Darkness is a mixture between The Walking Dead and Z Nation. I can’t wait to read more of the Oklahoma Wastelands hopefully with more zombies fighting and killing and to see where Regan and Kellan take us next on their journey.

If you like zombies with lots of action then you are going to love The Brightest Darkness. I definitely recommend The Brightest Darkness to all fans of The Walking Dead.
