My Review:
A Family is whisked away during the middle of the night and
put into the witness protection program because of things the father witnessed.
The teenage son Zach is upset that his world has been turned upside down and
wants his old life back. Zach misses all of his friends from home. He misses
playing football but most of all he misses the girl he met right before he was
taken away.
Zach is so upset that he blames his father for his life
being disrupted that he decides that he will just show them and takes off back
to his home to see his friends and to hopefully get that date with the girl he
left behind. Leaving his family may have been the worst thing he could have
ever done as the bad guys come after him. They follow him to back to his home
which puts Zach and all of his friend’s lives in danger.
Once I picked up The Runaway I couldn’t put it down. I was
racing through the pages trying to figure out if Zach was going to be ok and if
he would make it out alive. There was action and twists on every page that had
me hooked from beginning to end the action never let up. I had a wonderful time
trying to figure out everyone’s secrets and how their lives intertwined.
When I read the summary for The Runaway I knew I had to read
it. I like reading stories about people being in the witness protection
program. I can’t wait to read more of this author’s work.
I would recommend The Runaway to any who likes a good suspense
novel filled with lots of twists and turns and full of action.

Peter Thompson grew up on the east side of Chicago, in the shadow of the steel mills where the air was sooty and smelled of sulfur. His life wasn't always so gritty, but the grit and realism find its way into his thrillers. He has always loved stories of every kind, and one of his joys is finding a way to get inside character's heads, seeing the world as they see it and feeling their triumphs, pain, and fear. He visualizes his characters when he writes, and they are larger than life in the big screen of his imagination.
Before pursuing his passion and becoming a full-time author, he tried his hand at everything from factory work, breaking cement in a construction crew, running his own pizza shop, and he was a well-regarded presence in the mortgage industry for nearly thirty years.
