In fact, if Elle and Alec so much as kiss, it will start a magical chain reaction that would end in powerful factions of witches and wizards going to war. As a result, Elle and Alec vow to stay friends, no matter what. Then West Lake Prep holds a masquerade ball. Identities get mixed up and forbidden kisses are finally shared.
Time for the Magicorum to go to war, and for Elle to confront her hidden past in ways she never thought possible.
My Review:
Many years ago Elle first lost her mother then her dad remarried
and then she lost her dad then her evil step-mother locked her in the basement
taking over the family business. But this evil step-mother knew nothing about
Elle’s magic so therefore she was able to escape with the help of her little
friend.
Now Elle attends high school at West Lake Prep where humans
mix with witches, shifters and fairies hiding away from her evil step-family. To
help make ends meet Elle hunts stolen or missing jewelry for payment.
At West Lake Elle meets the charming Alec Le Charme the heir
to the Le Charme dynasty of high-end jewelers whom she has an instant crush on
but with curses on both of their heads a love affair between these two is off
limits, if so much as a little kiss passes between them then it could result in
a war between witches and wizards.
I loved the twist on the Cinderella story in Slippers And
Thieves and adding magic was a special nice twist on the story along with all
the action and romance. I also like that it has more than one paranormal
creature like shifters, fairies and witches.
The characters are all great and I really loved Elle with
her snarky comments and how she went after what she wanted. I liked her little
friend the mouse.
I definitely recommend Slippers And Thieves to all fans of
the magical world and fairy tale re-tellings.
