Some jobs are just a little too scary...
Home from college and heartbroken, nineteen-year-old April
Oliphant is roped into cleaning the old Rosebud Academy for Girls with her two
best friends, James and Logan. While she struggles to contain her growing
attraction to James, she also must manage a spooky basement, haunted hallways,
and a mirror that seems to want something from her. She didn’t think she could
trust her instincts after her ex’s betrayal, but it’s her instincts she must
trust now, in order to save her life…and her heart.
My Review:
Nineteen year-old April is home from college on spring break
which will be very nice for her as she will get to sleep in a real bed for the
duration. You see April has been living in her car for the past few months ever
since she broke up with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend wanted them to date other
people while they were still together. When he revealed this little tidbit
April was out of there.
April is outside cleaning her car from the months of her
living in it talking to one of her best friends from high school James and
reminiscing about times past when they each get a text from their other best
friend Logan. Logan has a job opportunity for the three of them making six
hundred bucks a piece. April is like six hundred dollars that will get her a
new place to live oh yeah you can count her in for the job.
So April, James and Logan get to clean out the basement and
wonder the halls of Rosebud Academy for girls. April is not real thrilled about
being inside Rosebud with all the ghosts stories the boys use to tell her about
the place but she really needs that money. So she sets aside her fears or at
least tries to and starts to work on the basement with all the old, mildew and
smelly things.
April finds an old mirror in the basement with the
reflection of a girl’s face that she has been having dreams about. The mirror
seems to be haunted as it speaks to April. Later on She and James are wonder
the halls of Rosebud when they hear footsteps they put the strange noise down
to an old building with old pipes not actually believing it one bit though.
What does the girl in the mirror want? Why is she choosing
to speak with April? Who is wondering the halls of Rosebud? How long have they
been wondering the halls? What do the footsteps want? Who does the footsteps
belong to? One click yourself a copy of April’s Ghost to find out the answers
to all these questions and more.
April’s Ghost is a nice little introduction into a world of
the ghost wondering the halls of Rosebud Girls Academy. It also gives us a
glimpse into the budding romance of longtime friends of April and James. Yeah
April and James have cared a secret spark for each other in their hearts for
quite a few years. Another question to add is who is this mysterious girlfriend
of Logan’s who he can’t stop texting? Why is he not talking April and James’
ear off about her? Maybe more will be revealed in the next book June’s Blood.
I highly recommend April’s Ghost to all fans of romance and
ghost stories to tell around a camp fire or well anytime.
