Victory can only come by letting go

It is with a life centered on our Lord that we can be Healed through the Power of Love. Amidst the trials, tribulations, and storms we experience with family, relationships, and friends, the Lord guides us if we surrender to His will, His purpose, and His plan for our lives.

Yasmin is estranged from her family and has a secret she has vowed to never reveal. With her heart scarred and filled with remorse and fear, she finds trusting, letting go, forgiving, and accepting the Lord's will a challenge. Orlando's life is mundane until Yasmin returns. His goal becomes helping Yasmin, convincing her to love and be loved, showing her how to be happy, and persuading her to overlook her past. Neither Yasmin nor Orlando can obtain victory without letting the Lord take control of their lives.

Interview with Rosanna Almonte

How did you become involved with the subject or theme of your book?

When I started to attend Words of Life Christian Center about ten years ago, I began to rewrite the book I’d been working on since I was fourteen years old.

What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you achieved them?

My goal in addition to exalting, glorifying, and honoring my Lord through my writing, is for readers to know that God is real, merciful, powerful, his grace continuous. When we trust him despite the circumstances and situations we go through, He glorifies himself in our lives. Giving us so much more than we could have dreamed or imagined.

My book was just released and I’m looking forward to the reviews, comments, discussions, and questions. I believe that my goal will be reached with many readers on different levels. It can be a confirmation of what the Lord has done in their lives, it can provide hope and increase the faith of those facing struggles, initiate an encounter with our Lord, or it can just be a realistic journey of the hardships we go through within our culture.

What was the hardest part of writing this book?

Ensuring the spiritual growth of the main characters is evident to the readers.

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

The interaction between the main characters and how it developed into a relationship in which they both had to rely on the Lord to achieve victory.

Where there alternate endings you considered?

Before I rewrote it as a Christian fiction Novel, yes.

Can you share some stories about people you met while researching this book?

No. Most of my research was online, looking at maps of New York City to write about specific locations where the characters resided or went to. Also, I did a lot of research selecting scripture and deciding which Bible version to use.

What genre of books do you enjoy reading?

Christian books. I have a collection of Joyce Meyer books, a handful of books written by the apostle Ben Paz and his wife Teresa Paz from the church, along with an array of many Christian books on varied topics. I have always been an avid reader. Loved to read Romance and historical romances, and that motivated me to start writing a novel when I was a teenager.
