Blurb:
Who will be her light in the dark?
Dahlia knows her value… it’s less than nothing. As a
daughter of the goddess Eris, discord and wanting are her only companions.
While she craves love and friendship — or even just a sense of belonging —
those are the very things her presence destroys.
Unless . . .
One day, a mysterious stranger rescues her from a fight and
offers her the unattainable: a safe haven with other demigods. But Dahlia fears
a new residence can only be a temporary reprieve. It can’t end well — not for
her or the others.
After all, it’s impossible to change who she is.
Daughter of Darkness takes place in the same world as The
Sphinx series, but it is a companion story (12,000 words) and can be enjoyed
independently.

My Review of Daughter of Darkness:
Dahlia is a young girl, an orphan who has live in foster
care all her life and has more than likely moved from home to home which is
probably why she has a very low self-esteem and thinks she is a nobody. She is
a very quiet and shy person who always tries to stay to herself and doesn’t
make friends easily. She is always getting into fights not that she wants to
fight she avoids fighting and drama as much as possible but when she is picked
on and pushed into a corner what is a girl to do? She can’t back down right?
On one of her little fighting adventures is where she meets
the great hottie the Son of War Xan who takes her under his wing escorts her to
the conservatory where she will be protected. Xan also teaches Dahlia how to
fight so she can protect her own self and he always teaches her about whom she
is and her history as the daughter of the goddess Eris.
I have enjoyed reading about Dahlia and how she came to live
at the conservatory and she met Xan. Dahlia’s story has been very inspiring and
informative. Daughter of Darkness is a Sphinx companion novel that can be read
as a standalone but is more enjoyable if read with the Sphinx Series. If you
have not read the Sphinx Series then I would love to suggest that you do as the
Sphinx is a very amazing series.

Author Bio:
Raye Wagner grew up in an urban
fantasy just outside of Seattle, Washington. As the second of eight children,
she was surrounded by monsters, demons, and her sometimes mortal parents. She
read heaps of fantasy while locked away in the upstairs room of the family
cottage.
Raye studied the art of medicine
long before she had an interest in the Gods on Mount Olympus.
One sunny afternoon, the history of
Apollo’s ancient curse and the myth of the Sphinx dropped into Raye’s
consciousness. She writes young adult fiction for teens and adults.
Curse of the Sphinx, a YA urban mythology, is her first novel. Demigods and Monsters, the second book in the Sphinx series, will be released April 2016.
