As the world descends into chaos, one woman will do anything to find her daughter…

Shannon Grayson is a tough-as-nails long-haul truck driver. But her life is turned upside down when a massive electromagnetic blast hits North America while she’s unloading cargo at the South-Central Retail Supercenter, demolishing the power grid.

Now she’s trapped inside the sprawling building, along with dozens of other survivors. And no one is coming to their rescue. Without power, the world outside begins to collapse. Shannon is determined to escape and find her daughter—they haven’t seen each other since Shannon entered witness protection five years ago, but when SHTF her momma-bear drive takes over.

But first, she must survive this ordeal…

Eight hundred miles away is Dennis Sullivan, Shannon’s witness protection officer, who swore to protect her and her daughter, and he’s a man of his word. He’ll battle through the ruins of America to reunite with them and ensure their safety.

Desperation quickly turns to terror as Shannon and the others realize there’s no way out of the locked-down supercenter. They’ll have to depend on each other to survive.

In the world gone mad, the only people they can trust—and the only people they need to fear—are each other…

My Review:

Trapped Days is the first book in a new series After the End by Grace Hamilton. Trapped Days is just the kind of story I like, an end-of-the-world story. An EMP has set the world on fire. People are trapped in buildings with no way to get out. Phones and all electronics have died. There is no way to get in touch with friends or family.

Trapped Days is told from Shannon, Andre, and Dennis’s points of view. Shannon had to go into witness protection five years ago. Shannon testified against her husband Andre who is a murderer. Dennis is Shannon’s witness protection officer.

Dennis is an ex-marine. Dennis is hooked on pain pills with injuries from his days in the Marines and a car accident. Dennis is not going to let anything keep him from getting to Shannon and her daughter Kim.

Shannon’s daughter Kim did not go into witness protection with her. Dennis has been their go-between for the last five years. He keeps them up to date on how the other is doing.

Shannon is a long-haul truck driver. She was on the road making a delivery at a retail shopping center when the EMP hit. There were lots of people in the store when the EMP hit causing everything to go haywire.

Electronic doors started closing trapping everyone inside before they could get out and rescue was not coming as no one knew they were trapped because there was no way to communicate with anyone.

With so many people trapped inside with kids as well, chaos sets in. No one wants to cooperate. Some only think about themselves. They think they should have more food than others even the kids. I can’t believe or don’t want to believe that adults act like this selfishly. I can but I don’t want to.

I could imagine all those people trapped with Shannon, Bill, and Connor. With so many people I could see them standing close together as they had no other option with so many people.

I can imagine the longer they were trapped in the store the less air they would have. Food and supplies ran out quickly causing people to fight with each other more. No one wanted to work together so they could make everything last longer. So they could survive longer. And the rest of the world was not fairing much better at all. It was a world gone mad.

I loved reading Trapped Days and can’t wait to read more in the After the End series to see what happens next. I highly recommend this one, Trapped Days! Grab a copy of Trapped Days today!
