Published by: Acorn Publishing
Publication date: December 1st 2020
Genres: Dystopian, Young Adult
After the government’s brutal attack on the Diseased Ones, Hollis Timewire must wade through the carnage of her treacherous mistake. The survivors want justice, and now Hollis faces impending execution. Each day, she must prove herself to be a model community member. But chopping firewood for the new camp in the forest isn’t enough. Hollis longs to redeem herself, and this sparks an idea to rescue the little boy from the Testing Center. Stealing the government’s secret weapon might just be the perfect way to destabilize the system – enough to bring the whole thing crumbling down. But unseen forces are at work. The world is not what it appears to be, and society has a dark secret that not even Hollis is prepared to face.

My Review:
After the terrible mistake Hollis made in The Diseased Ones against her friends by taking the government’s side in their attack against the Diseased Ones Hollis has realized her mistake and is trying her best to redeem herself and make up for her mistake. After what she did Hollis had her powers removed as she didn’t want to hurt anyone like that ever again.
Some want her dead while others think she made a mistake and everyone deserves a second chance. She just needs someone to stand up for her and care about her. She just needs that one friend to stand by her. She is trying to make up for her mistake by helping out around the camp with chores.
Hollis knows that she can never change what she did but maybe she can make up for it in some way other than by doing chores. After giving it some thought Hollis remembers the little boy at the Testing Center, the little boy that took her powers from her. If she could save that one little boy who just happens to be the government’s secret weapon it may just be enough to redeem herself and save the world at the same time.
I fell in love with The Hollis Timewire Series with the first book The Diseased Ones the minute I opened it and it drew me into its depths mesmerizing me and now The Unseen Ones has done the exact same thing. Once I picked it up I was hooked. I love the world that was created for The Hollis Timewire Series and the characters too. I was so glad to have got the chance to see Hollis change and own up to her mistakes. I could just feel the sadness coming off her in waves. I can’t wait to read more in this world of Hollis Timewire’s.
