My Review:

Meriden Cummings and her mother are attacked by pirates in their shop. Meriden and her mother give the pirates a run for their money. I can just see the whole scene playing out in my head. I can see those pirates as they come racing through the door and then spotting two women standing there probably with their swords raised and the pirates thinking two women, we got this. Ho ho, I can just see the look of surprise on the pirates' faces when the battle beings and the women were way better than they would have ever thought.

After the fight with the pirates is over and Meriden and her mother are treated for their injuries obtained in the fight Meriden is looking through some old stuff she has come across when she spots a map, a treasure map of sorts. A map of Death Island. No one believes that the island much less the treasure exists but Meriden had always wanted to go on an adventure sailing the high seas like her grandfather and father before her. I guess you could say it is in her blood.

Meriden is surprised by her mother’s reaction when she tells her about the map. Her mother knows right away that Meriden wants to find this island of death. She doesn’t want her to go like all mothers, she wants her baby to stay at home with her so she can keep her safe but at the same time, she knows that she can never do that to her baby girl as she has always wanted to do the same thing herself.

But before she can set sail she needs a few things like supplies, a crew, and a ship. No problem as she can enlist the help of a few friends to help back her little adventure. Oh and the boat part her mother has that problem solved for her already unbeknownst to Meriden at the time. So after she obtains her crew, supplies, and the boat of course Meriden and company set out to find Death Island and a treasure.

This is not my first time reading Kelsey Ketch’s Death Island. I read it in January 2018 after it was released as one book in December 2017. I loved it so much that when I saw that Kelsey had re-edited and republished as two books, I knew right away that I had to reread it and I must say that I loved it just as much the second time around as the first. I can still see each scene playing out in my head.

Reading Death Island: The Journey was like taking a walk down memory lane with a few old friends as they took the journey of a lifetime. I could just feel the mist of the ocean on my face and smell the salt on the sea. I am still hoping to see Death Island on the big screen one of these days. (Fingers are crossed) I can’t wait to read the next part of their journey in Death Island: The Discovery.

I enjoyed reading Death Island so much that I would recommend it to everyone who likes reading about pirates and sailing the high seas. If you are into stories like Pirates of the Caribbean then trust me you will love Death Island: The Journey so one-click your copy today to begin this epic adventure!

My Review:

Meriden, Greg, and the rest of the crew have finally reached the island, and once they stepped foot on the island, their nightmares began. They started having these bad dreams that were affecting them in more ways than one. Strange things are happening on the island causing people to act in ways they never would have before. Everyone is seeing things that may or may not be real. They are seeing ghosts and skeletons, real and or imaginative. The island is making them face their worst fears or nightmares.

Death Island: The Discovery is so vividly written I could see it all playing out in my head. I could see them as they crossed the island looking for the lost treasure. I saw a dark eerie looking place with fog or mist running along the ground only separating around them where they stood. I could see them as they were making their way through the dark forest as they saw it.

Death Island: The Discovery is full of suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way as it built and built until without warning it exploded in my face. It kept the ole adrenaline flowing from beginning to end. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough as each scene unfolded. As I have said before I would so love to see Death Island: The Discovery on the big screen along with the first book Death Island: The Journey.

This is not the first time I have read Death Island: The Discovery, no I read it the first time when the Death Island Duology was one book that was released in December 2017. When I saw that it had been re-edited as two books and seeing as I loved it so much the first time, I had to reread it.

As I did with its predecessor Death Island: The Journey I highly recommend Death Island: The Discovery as well to all fantasy, and adventure readers. If you are into pirates then you are going to fall in love with the Death Island Duology. So one-click your copies today to begin this epic journey across the sea and visit Death Island!
