Graham and his partner Guy, can't keep up with the demand. They are being flooded with requests at Knights Associates, where they offer a combined service of private investigator and that of solving cyber crimes. It appears that someone wants to get their attention as not only have they been hacked but Guy's family business, Caspian Winery, seems to be under attack as well. Hiring an assistant seems to be the answer but when Graham discovers she's been accessing their high-security accounts, he realizes the cause of their predicament might be closer then he thought. Is there new assistant behind the problems they're having? If she's so innocent why does someone want to abduct her?
Tarin and Graham discover that although they don't trust each other, they are forced to work together to solve several seemingly unrelated crimes that may lead to one disastrous conclusion. Can they figure it all out before Tarin's nightmare plays out? An eighty year old woman pays with her life? Or before Tarin learns a truth that may seal her fate and be the one secret that will keep her and Graham apart as neither one of them may be able to forgive or forget...

And now an Excerpt from 'Deceitful Truths'
The reason for what she'd really gone there for was bothering her like a woodpecker pecking at her skull. She reached into her right pocket, to pull out the USB, only to realize it wasn't there. She reached into her left one. When she came up empty she patted all her front pocket and then her back ones. Frantically she slapped at all her pockets and then shoved her hands in. What the heck?
Suddenly she remembered where it was. Her head dropped backwards as she clapped her hand over her mouth. It was in the pocket of the skirt she'd been going to wear.
What am I doing?
This sneaking around and hurting others was making her feel like she was more like her father than she wanted to be. All of a sudden, exhaustion rolled over her like a wave crashing on the shore. Wearily, she wiped her computer clean, shut it down and with one last thorough look around, left. She closed and locked the office door before heading down the long set of steps. When she was about halfway down, there was a loud bang outside. She flattened herself against the wall as she listened intently, having no clue what she'd do if someone came through that door. She stuffed her cell phone in her pocket, which was what she had been using to light the darkened stairwell.
Five minutes later when nothing else happened she made her way silently down the rest of the steps. Unlocking and then slowly opening the door she peered out before stepping through, closing and locking it behind her. She hadn't taken two steps when she felt something sharp touch her neck, at the same time an arm slid around her waist like a cinch that tightened with each movement.
"You hold it right there or I'll cut you. Give me all that you've got. Your cell phone first."
This is the Soundtrack that I think would best suit Deceitful Truths. I think a lot of what these songs are about goes well with different aspects of the story. I'd love to know what you think.
This was fun to choose who the dream cast would be for Deceitful Truths but it was a lot harder than I thought it would be. The people I finally came up with who I think would play the roles really well are:
Tarin Roth - Deceitful Truths is really her story, her journey through something horrible to discover the truth and to save her son.
Natalie Portman would be really good for the role of Tarin. Not only is Natalie beautiful and a good actress but she has the look and the qualities that would fit this character. Tarin was raised in a wealthy home by a strict father, so there were high expectations for how she'd show up and how she'd act. She is always dressed in the nicest clothes, perfectly put together she almost seems snobbish, self-centered but there is an inner strength a need to search for who she is and who's been messing up her life. I think Natalie Portman would do the role justice.
Graham Knight is the other main character. He finds himself caught in a web of lies and deceit, someone is not only screwing with his company but that of his business partner's very wealthy grandmother. All his suspicions are pointing him in Tarin's direction.
Ben Foster has the look I want for Graham. Graham is someone who is a bit of a nerd/geek but is also very fit and into being active. Ben did such a great job in the movie Lone Survivor and although this role is very different, I think he'd do it really well.
I wanted to include another character from the story.
Dorothea Lindell owns the family winery and has for about fifty years. She is feisty, takes no crap from anyone and has no problem speaking her mind. The latest incident with someone trying to destroy her winery though is testing her resolve and having her question if her supposed-to-be-dead brother is again trying to ruin her life and that of her family.
Betty White would be perfect for this role.
