If that weren’t enough, she must leave sunny south Florida to attend a boarding school full of geniuses in cold, Lynn, Massachusetts. The city where the locals chant “Lynn, Lynn, city of sin; you never come out the way you went in.”

And, they aren’t kidding. Lisa must live in a tiny shack with two strange teenagers, a dog named Pig who growls when you look at him and a cat named Rat. “Mind the cat,” everyone says. What the heck is wrong with this place?

Lisa thinks she’s landed in her own house of horrors with the anti-social Alex and his facetious sister Ally. But, the real drama begins the day she is struck by lightning…

An Interview with Christina Leigh Pritchard

What inspired you to write C I N?

It came from a dream and an old saying told to me by the father of my boss.

When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?

In elementary school, there was a contest. It was during that experience when it was made clear that this is what I wanted to do forever. However, I’d been writing and reading even before I could spell or read. I’d place a towel under the door thinking that would keep my family from seeing the light as I flipped through all my books each night. When that stopped working, I’d take them with me into the closet.

What is the earliest age you remember reading your first book?

Maybe 4? With My great-grandmother. She would become animated and encourage me to do the same.

What genre of books do you enjoy reading?

I think character oriented books. That’s not really a genre but if I can love and cry with them then I’m hooked.

What is your favorite book?

To this day, I still read Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli once a year.

You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and why?

I kind of like them all. Any given day a different color could be my favorite. I’ve never been consistent. I love variety in all things.

If you could travel back in time here on earth to any place or time. Where would you go and why?

I would go back 12 years ago and make better decisions ;)

When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult task?

Depends on the story. Fantasy stories can be hard as you have to build the scene without boring the reader.

Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?

I have a family dog. My dog, Teacup, passed away.

What is your ""to die for"", favorite food/foods to eat?

PIZZA!!

Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be an author?

Work really hard and try not to take criticism to heart, unless it is to become a better writer.
