Parker

(Face-Off Series #1)
Publication date: February 15th 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Former collegiate athlete and successful sports agent, Charlotte “Coach” Coachman, is a straight shooter who has a very strict policy—no dating clients. The loves of her life are coaching little league basketball and managing the careers of her players, leaving no room for men.
Coach hasn’t met an athlete she couldn’t handle and a deal she couldn’t close—until she meets Alex Parker—the NHL’s most notorious bad boy both on and off the ice.
Alex is the best defenseman in the league, breaking records along with hearts. He’s made a name for himself as a womanizer, and after a scandal involving the owner’s granddaughter, Alex is traded to Philadelphia. Still reeling from the loss of his father, Alex is on a downward spiral, drowning himself in booze and women, until Coach takes him under her wing.
She might be attracted to the sexy hockey star, and certainly not immune to his charms, but Coach can see that Alex needs her help, and coaching players is what she does best. Now that the lines are blurred and the passion between them is too strong to deny, Coach has to decide if Alex is worth making an exception to her rules.
Interview
with Jillian Quinn
What
inspired you to write Parker?
My love of hockey and obsessive fangirling over hockey
players inspired me to write Parker. I also love the movie Jerry Maguire, and I
thought it would be cool if a female sports agent took the sports world by
storm, giving me the idea for Charlotte Coachman.
Can
you tell us a little bit about the next books the Face-Off Series or what you
have planned for the future?
The next book in the series is Kane. I plan to release at
either the end of April or first week of May. You meet both Tyler Kane and
Kennedy Lockwood in Parker, but Kane’s story is all about Tyler and Kennedy
meeting by chance through mutual friends and finding love through their own
heartache. I have three books after Parker planned in the series, all of which
are standalone novels that will be released between spring and fall of this
year.
Mark Montgomery cares about two things—getting laid and
getting paid. He's cocky, confident, sexy as sin, and counting down the last
few months of college before he can begin his professional baseball career. But
there are things Mark must do to survive until his big payday, questionable activities
that could get him killed.
He doesn't want to rope anyone into his mess, especially not Olivia Ford, the
woman he takes home from the club, a sexy lawyer who turns out to be his Law
and Ethics professor. Their new relationship changes everything. But Mark won’t
take no for an answer. Olivia can fight him all she wants, but Mark is the one
who will be teaching her a lesson. In her classroom. Bent over her office desk.
On the hood of his car.
Mark is more than a dirty talker who’s good in bed and can throw a ball, but
what he does on the side is the one thing that could tear them apart and expose
their forbidden relationship to the world.
Can
you tell us a little bit about the characters in Parker?
Alex Parker is the NHL’s bad boy and top defenseman.
Charlotte Coachman is the sports agent assigned to babysit him.
She has strict rules about dating clients.
He likes breaking them.
My favorite author and the reason I wanted to become a
writer since I was young is Stephen King. I love his prose and the way he
creates characters and stories. He really has a way with words. My romance
author inspiration is Jamie McGuire. Beautiful Disaster is the book that pulled
me into romance.
If
you could time-travel would you travel to the future or the past? Where would
you like to go and why would you like to visit this particular time period?
I would travel to the 1920s so I could hang out with F.
Scott Fitzgerald. I love the Prohibition Era because it also introduced the
Mafia and organized crime in the United States, and that part of history has
always fascinated me. I wrote my Mafia romance, Corrupt Me, because of my
interest in that time period. I also like the fashion and music from back then.
Do
you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?
No, unfortunately, I have horrible allergies. I’m
allergic to everything from perfume and laundry detergent to cats and dogs. The
only pets I can have are fish, but I found out they are a lot more work than I
had anticipated. I’m even allergic to shellfish.
Thanks
for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit with us today.
