One night changes everything…

Tragedy leaves Livia Hart a broken shell of herself. Craving escape from her grief and guilt, she heads to Europe, taking the trip she’s dreamed about for years.

While in London, her prayers are answered when she meets Lucian Llewellyn. Lucian offers her more than just one night of bliss to forget her loss: the gift of immortality, to be reborn as a vampire.

Livia enters a world where vampires refuse to mourn their existence. They instead embrace their roles as powerful predators, hiding in plain sight and preying on those who won’t be missed.

But secrets from Lucian’s past threaten Livia’s newfound happiness. Can she survive in her new life knowing the truth? Or will the revelations condemn her to an eternity of regret?

My Review:

Livia is still mourning the death of her younger brother Ethan and feels as if it is her fault. She tries to get on with her life but nothing seems to be working so she packs up her bags and heads to Europe on vacation. Livia and Ethan had planned to go to Europe together for years.

While in London she meets a nice young man in a bar whom she hits it off with very quickly and hard. Lucian takes Livia home with him and explains to her that he is a vampire and offers to give her the gift of immortality to help with her grief.

Livia accepts his offer and becomes a vampire and is soon on the road to recovery. Lucian has some secrets hidden in his past that could tear them apart. Lucian’s guilt eats at him to the point where his secrets comes tumbling out. Will their past come back to haunt them? Will it tear them apart forever? How will Livia deal with the truth?

Vanilla Blood is a heartfelt read that had my emotions all over the place. One minute I was flying high happy that Livia had found someone that she could love be happy with and then the next it was so sad that it had me crying. When a book can make you feel so many different emotions then that is a brilliantly written book.

I loved getting glimpses into Livia and Lucian’s backgrounds so I could get to know them a little more to who they are and what made them the person they are now.

I would recommend Vanilla Blood to anyone who likes vampire novels with romance.
