All is not well in paradise...

#1 – Do You See
Writing as a Career?
Hope
Daniels - Yes, I do. If I had met Alicia fifteen years ago and we’d started
this then, my life would have been entirely different. I cannot imagine not
writing now. Everything I do is planned around writing, marketing, improving my
work, etc,. Even taking a part-time job is to pay my dues, so to speak, in
order to get more perspective for writing projects.
Alicia
- Yes most definitely. I've dabbled in writing since I was in fourth grade.
Only in last nine years, have I been published. So, hoping in the future it is.
#2 – What was the
Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?
Hope
- For me it is setting quality time to write and keeping focused on one
project. Oh, and then there is those interruptions from the grown adults and
grandkids. Somehow they don’t understand that with each interruption it takes
ten to fifteen minutes to get back to where you left off.
Alicia - Work. Life.
Everything in between. It is hard sometimes to get your mind in the characters
head space then one or other invade the space to pull you outta the zone.
#3 – Did you have any
One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of Your Family?
Hope
- Any one person? No. This time I had two that stand out to me as I read
the question. Our editor, Lindsey, who is also a friend. She offered great
advice and encouragement. Michelle kept me going this time when I just wanted
to say this isn’t worth it. It should have been finished in April, not October.
Life said differently.
Alicia - Hope helps me work
through spots I am stuck on most of the time. And sometimes I talk to a
previous coauthor Kora Knight when I need advice on a segment in the book.
#4 – What is next for
your writing?
Hope
- Next we dig deep to complete the series with Hell Of A Life while working on
individual projects. My goal is to have additional stories in anthologies with
CHBB Publishing and a follow up novel to both Always and Forever, an MM Erotic,
and an Reverse Harem full length follow up to An Awakening. Always and Forever
was featured in All You Need Is Love, and An Awakening was featured in Black
Magic.
Alicia - As Hope said the
final book in this series. I also want to finish a solo project I started 4
years ago that's half way done.
#5 – Do you have an
addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently reading?
Hope
- YASSS! As I fill in the blanks, I am finishing up the ARC of Fragments of Ash
by Katy Regnery.
Alicia - Not as much as Hope
does, but that doesn't mean I still don't fangirl over my favorite authors.
Currently I've not read a book for a while.

or Nicholas Sparks?
Hope
- Both in a way. I don’t think Sparks should be a USA Bestseller or be touted
as a wonderful author because he is a male. His perspective isn’t any different
than the hundreds of author books I’ve read. Nor is his writing. He just
happened to write a contemporary story that resonated with the multitude first.
Great marketing. Steel was smart to market her books to mini series when she
did.
Alicia - To be honest neither. I've read a few of Danielle's books.
Seen the Notebook movie but never read the book.
#6 – Fantasy or
Reality?
Hope
- Fantasy. No one has to use the bathroom in fantasy. Have you noticed that? Or
if they do, there are enough of them in the house or building AND the house is
always clean.
Alicia - Reality. I find myself watching more of that than anything
else. Reading wise Fantasy.

- Both even if I have the eBook version. If I like the book, I want the
paperback version for the library. (You’ll have to ask Alicia how she likes
living in my library-lol)
Alicia - Both. I own more ebooks than paper. Easier to keep.

Hope Daniels:

Alicia Dawn:
Your average 9-5 workalcoholic that took care of every day business. After 10 long years of having no life, outside of home and work, she found Facebook as so many others had. Always having the passion, since she was in the fourth grade, to read and write, she got drawn into the Role Playing world. Living, via roleplay, a place where stories picked up and continued on even after the book was done. This was a whole new world.
Loving that the stories, she had devoured and loved to read were now never ending. She became captivated by all the tales that others with the same passion created, and Role Played out on Facebook. Getting drawn into something that she had never done before, but always in back of her mind wished she could do, Alicia started Role Playing on Facebook in 2010, meeting Nikita Jakz along the way, and many other fascinating people.
After a year, she decided to be an adventurist and create her own characters. Not unlike what all authors do, when creating those awesome books that she had coveted and devoured when they came out. Joining a group of independent writers. A lot of voices were yearning to be wrote and she got busy working on letting them out!
With four books self-published in paranormal and one in young adult, she is working on a new paranormal series with writing partner Hope Daniels.
