After an attempted suicide Carter finds himself in a coma. He is able to hear the world around him, yet he can’t move. What he hears propels Carter to begin to see life in a new way, especially when one of his nurses, Kinley, shares parts of her tragic past with him. Soon, Carter realizes he is falling in love with her.
Months after being transferred from the hospital, to a rehabilitation facility, he suddenly wakes up with a passion to live that he never had before and a determination to find the one person he feels may be able to help him put the pieces of his life together again. However, when he returns to the hospital, Kinley is gone and Carter must try to find her based solely on the things she shared with him while he was in a coma.
Only, nothing is as it seems and Carter learns the biggest lesson of them all… the differences between expectation, perception, and reality.
My Review:
Love, Cutter tells the story of one young man who attempted suicide
and ended up in a coma. While he was in a coma his mother, father, brother,
sister, best friend, a nurse among others would come to visit Carter and talk
to him what they didn’t know was that he could hear what they were saying.
Carter had a lot of time to think while he was in a coma
about his life and what he did. After listening to his parents talk he come to
realize that what he thought about them was not exactly correct. Carter thought
they didn’t care about him very much but come to learn that he was wrong. Carter
found out things about his family and friends that he may never have known and
it changed him.
One of his nurses, Kinley would come and sit with Carter and
talk to him and tell him about her life. Kinley talked to Carter about things
that she didn’t speak of much to others. She would read to him at first Carter
didn’t care much about listening to everyone talking to him but he soon got use
to Kinley coming and seeing and reading to him. Kinley would go to see Carter
on her time off and Carter came to expect it. It was very upset when she
stopped coming.
When he was released he was determined to find her if it was
the last thing he did. Carter came to care about Kinley very much. He didn’t
know her last name and the only way to find her was by the things she had told
him about her day to day life like the places she visited and the people she
saw and talked to.
Love, Cutter is about suicide, tragedy, cutters, heart-ache
and love. Love, Cutter is one of those books that will grab you from the
beginning and will seem to never let go. It will pull on the old heartstrings
and having you crying one minute and laughing the next. It is about people
loving each other for what is in their heart and not for what they look like.
If you like heart wrenching stories then you will love Love,
Cutter. Love, Cutter is well written and thought out story that will stay with
you for a long time to come. I am so glad that I got the opportunity to read
Love, Cutter and get to know all the wonderful characters.
