Blog Tour + Review + #Giveaway: BIRTH by Donna Russo Morin @DonnaRussoMorin @XpressoTours

BIRTH
Donna Russo Morin
(Once, Upon a New Time, #1)
Publication date: February 15th 2019
Genres: Adult, Fantasy

New worlds don’t appear. They are born from the labor of those who envision them.

Count Witon has grown weary of the constant war between the races. Together with his wife Belamay, and Persky – first of a rare Human / Elf breed – Witon plans to create a new society: a utopia for anyone who longs for peaceful coexistence.

They recruit pilgrims from every city and species; most to success, some to failure. Together, they set off to a small, yet promising island, found by chance in the middle of the churning ocean.

But the journey there is fraught with challenges, and none of them is as dire as the one they face once they reach their destination. Will they have the strength and determination to give Birth to this New Time?

Once, Upon A New Time is a medieval fantasy with a double-edged sword: one of blood, the other of lust.

My Review:

War between the races has been going on for years and years. Most people are tired of all the fighting and decide they want to leave find a new home and live in peace where everyone cares for and loves each other where everyone can live in peace.

Wilton, Belamay, and Persky come up with a plan to take a ship and find a new world to start a new life of peace. Anyone and everyone from all species are welcomed in their new world.

Their plan is for Wilton to take the first ship out to find the world and once they find the land then send the ship back for more people but their plans are shot down when they are caught in a storm are left stranded with no ship and very little supplies.

Wilton and the other survivors start their new life in their new world while trying to find a way to reach the others. How will they contact the others to let them know they made it to the new world? Will they ever see their loved ones again? Will Wilton ever see his wife Belamay again?

I really enjoyed reading Birth and watching different species of people fighting on opposite sides of a war come together as one to stop all the hate and violence to start a new life, society together. I would really like to check out the next book to see how this society grows.

I would recommend Birth to anyone who likes fantasy novels.
