Interview with Amanda J. Greene
As a
writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
Kimi Räikkönen, Formula One driver, is my
spirit animal ALL the time. Who doesn’t love the Iceman? He is basically the
definition of the saying, Honey badger don’t give a ****, and is just 100%
authentic.
How
many hours a day do you put into your writing?
Unfortunately, I’m unable to write
fulltime, but I dedicate a minimum of two hours a day for week days and then
spend all day Saturday in my writing cave.
Do you
read your book reviews? If yes, do they affect what you write in the future?
I do read the reviews. I can’t
think of specific example of how thy have impacted my writing, however there
have been times when I read reviews and have the response of “I can see that”
or “Yeah, maybe I should’ve done that” or “Yep, it’s coming along.”
Do
you leave hidden messages in your books that only a few people will find?
I leave little hints in most of my books,
but not all. I’ve two series at the moment, Under Realm Assassins and the
Rulers of Darkness, both have foreshadowing. In my most recent release, Wicked
Passion, readers may be left wondering what Jaxon is doing besides chasing
after a spy within the team…?
Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Wicked Passion?
James Stonewoll is pirate turned
vampire who happens to also be an assassin. He loves having a good time, enjoys
a bit of dangers, walks on the beach and prefers straight rum to pina coladas.
Katya Moro is a dark aura succubus
and has been cast out of her tribe. She’s had a rough go of it lately, but
meeting James has turned her world right side up. Question is, could she be too
dangerous for the vampire to handle?
Can you tell us a little bit about your next books or what you have
planned for the future?
I’m currently working on 2 books.
The first is the start of new trilogy, The Darkest Light. It will be a
paranormal romance with main character being a vampire bent on revenge who has
hunted for the one whose blood can grant him immeasurable power.
I’m also working on Fade to Night
(Under Realm Assassins #4), which focuses on one of the ancient elite vampires
mentioned in Wicked Passion (Under Real Assassins #3). I’m hoping to release
both books no later than March of 2020.
Do you allow yourself a certain number of hours to write or do you
write as long as the words come?
I set aside two hours a day to write, when
life allows, and I dedicate my Saturdays and most Sundays to writing as well.
The exception is during football season. Sundays are consumed by football since
we host a party/ get together every Sunday during those months. That being
said, if I am writing and I’m on a roll I hate breaking it. So, I will spend
however much time it takes when I’m in the zone. I’ve got to say, it is those
moments when insomnia and I are best friends. I’ve grown accustomed to the lack
of sleep since I was a teen, so let’s write!
Do you have a certain number of words or pages you write per day?
Since I work full time and I’m
still attending school, plus I have a husband and family to see to, I don’t
hold myself to a daily goal, but I try to write a chapter a week.
What inspires you to write?
Since I can remember I’ve enjoyed writing. What got
me into paranormal romance was the first vampire book I ever read, Companion of
the Night by Vivian Vande Velde, when I was about 12. From then on, I was
hooked. Now, I write because I love it!

Well, as much as I like to travel, I would have to go with a

That being said, if he’s deployed I’ll travel!
