A thrilling introduction to the dark mystical world of Melanie ‘Breaker’ Perkiss, Buffalo NY’s most capable witch hunter and spell lifter.
In this debut instalment, a dark mage acting on behalf of a vengeful ex has magically removed the genitals of a man and vanished, leaving him wiped clean down there. And unfortunately for the victim, he is set to wed…now imagine saying ‘I do’ while in that deprived state.
No wonder when a shell-shocked and heartbroken Casey walks into Melanie’s office to report the incident, the witch hunter immediately goes on a chase, risking her own life as she encounters dark creatures and malevolent spirits in the city’s darkest corners.
The pressure is indeed on Mel: the wedding is fast approaching and leads remain few. Will she be able to corner the mage, recover the taken goods and save a doomed marriage, while bringing the conspirators to justice?
My Review:
Casey McLong wakes up one morning to discover that his
manhood has been taken from him. Yep every thing south of the border has been
wiped cleaned. Casey has no idea what he is going to do or what happened as he
has no memory of the night before. In just a few short days he is supposed to
walk down the aisle to wedded bliss. Casey is desperate to reclaim his manhood so
he enlists the help of a witch hunter, Melanie Perkiss.
Melanie or Mel has never had a case quite like this one but
believes she can help poor Mr. McLong or at least she hopes too for the sake of
his fiancĂ©e as well as Mr. McLong’s. Mel gets a lead on Mr. McLong’s package
and discovers that it was taken by a very powerful Mage but when she arrives to
take back what belongs to Casey she finds that it has been stolen.
Yeah it seems that everybody who sees or comes in contact
with Casey’s package wants to get their hands on it. So Mel chases down lead
after lead as Casey’s package is passed around from hand to hand. You would
assume that Mr. McLong is John Holmes or something the way everyone seemed to
be acting.
Heist is a very fast paced and interesting read with lots of
action from beginning to end that kept the pages turning. Heist has a hidden
message between its pages or maybe a double meaning at least of how the world perceives
some things.
Heist is a very humorous read and very entertaining. It has
an air of a cozy mystery feel to it. It remind me of the TV show Charmed in
ways but it also made me think of that TV show 48 Hours because Casey was
getting married in a few days which didn’t give Melanie very much time to find
his package. It also reminded me of an episode of Van Helsing, season 3 episode
7 Hunted Down of what Scab a vampire had to do in order to become a member of
The Sisterhood.
Heist drew me in with the summary. After reading the summary
I thought how interesting and intriguing it sounded. I couldn’t wait to start reading
it to see what it consisted of and let me tell you I was not disappointed in
the least. When I picked it up I didn’t know quite what to expect but…. and to
be truly honest it was not what I was expecting at all but I believe I enjoyed
it way more than I ever thought I would. It made me smile a lot through the
whole book and I don’t think I have read anything quite like it before. It was amazeballs…Oh
what an exhilarating and thrilling ride…
If you have not read Heist yet then let me be the first to
recommend that you do. Come join the witch hunter, Melanie on her hunt for
Casey’s manhood. One click yourself a copy today!
