A detective with something to prove…
Working the
homicide division in Galena, IL isn’t exactly a high-stress lifestyle, and
Detective Adam Emerson wouldn’t have it any other way. For the most part, his
day consists of giving his partner migraines, hunting for his missing brother,
and struggling to pin a shred of evidence on the violent crime lords of
Illinois.
A sociopath with a dangerous obsession…
Liam
Cavanaugh is the latest in a long line of criminals. Their spotless reputation
and deep pockets have kept them out of prison for as long as they can remember.
But his right hand man has betrayed him, and everything’s about to change.
A girl running for her life…
Being the
black sheep of her family was something Claire McBride was accustomed to. Being
the last surviving member was not. One minute she’s crushing on her older
brother’s best friend, the next, her brother’s nightmarish secret life has
become her terrifying reality.
A triangle with deadly consequences…
Caught in
the middle of the Emerson-Cavanaugh war, tragedy and destruction dog Claire’s
every step. These two men will do just about anything to be with her--including
murder. Desperate to keep Adam alive, Claire is left to unravel the truth
behind the darkness that shrouds her world.
The truth is
about to come to light and burn them all alive. But some secrets are better
left buried.

My Review:
Claire McBride loses everyone in her family to a ruthless
killer first her brother then her mom and dad. With no one else to turn to
Claire turns to her brother’s best friend, Detective Adam Emerson. Claire, her
brother and Adam were all best friends growing up. Claire has secretly been in
love with Adam for a long time but is afraid of how he would accept her if she
told him how she felt. She is afraid of losing him if she confesses her secret
to him.
With everyone in her family dead is Claire next on the
killer’s list. Adam has promised to keep Claire safe from the killer. What
Claire doesn’t know is that Adam has a secret of his own that he has kept
hidden for years. Can Adam keep Claire safe? Or will the killer find her? Will
they catch the killer before it is too late?
Chasing Sunshine is told from both Claire and Adam’s point
of view. Chasing Sunshine tells Claire’s story of how she is on the run from a
ruthless killer and how hard she fights to stay alive and safe. Adam has a long
hard road ahead of him with proving who the killer is and with getting the evidence
he needs to back his case.
Chasing Sunshine is more than just the love between two
people it has mystery, suspense, and twists with lots of action on almost every
page that keeps the adrenaline pumping and the pages flipping as you race to
the end wondering if, when and how they are going to get the proof they need to
find a killer and make him pay for the wrongs he has committed.
I felt so bad for Claire and Adam I was like will it ever
stop? How much more can these two go through and survive? Time after time my
heart was so heavy with the grief that I imagined Claire and Adam feeling. The
pain and the hurt just kept coming and coming, over and over again with no end
in sight. Once I picked up Chasing Sunshine I was not able to put it down until
I had read the last page I had to know how it was all going to come out in the
end. I can’t wait to read more in this amazing new world of Love in the
Crossfire.
I highly recommend Chasing Sunshine to all fans of mystery,
suspense, romance, and a good thriller. One click yourself a copy today!
About
the Author:
Once
upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, there was a brain. This brain enjoyed
the color purple, cuddling animals, soft blankets, nap time, and drinking
coffee. The brain lived in a cave, on an island, and spent all of its time
reading books and avoiding people.
Then
one day, the brain decided it wanted to write a book.
Lightning
struck and a million ideas came to life inside of the brain. So many ideas, so
many voices, the brain actually exploded, split in two pieces, never to be
meshed into one again.
Several
lifetimes later, Allana Kephart and Lissa Lynn Thomas are the owners of each
half of the broken brain. Together, they are A.L. Shea.
